What if I already have a paper ticket?

I have been reading about these new bracelets but haven't seen anyone address how the transition will take place, though I might have missed it. My mom has an annual pass (paper). We already have tickets from undercover tourist (paper). Has anyone read how Disney will handle this? Will we have to get in a line somewhere to switch these for a bracelet? It doesn't make any sense to attach an annual pass to a bracelet that also works as a room key.

I am wondering the same thing. We have Premier Passports, so our tix for the parks aren't tied to our KTTW. However, the PP are not paper, they are a card.

1- Yes. (Bracelet or other RFID device.)
2- It won't matter a bit. They can turn the "resort key" operation on and off at will.

Looks like the bracelet will not be the only RFID device that can be used.

I've got non-expiring tickets with water park fun and more. I'll use the last three park days in March, but I'll still have about 8 water park days left after that. If they transfer that ticket to a wrist band, I wonder what happens with the next ticket I buy? Will the wrist band hold multiple tickets so I don't lose my non-expiring water park days?

I will admit, I have not been keeping up on the threads about this and now trying to catch up my head is spinning .

Once this rolls out, will everyone staying on-site have to get a band? And if the answer is yes, what if we want to do FPs the old fashioned way (at the machines, not in advance) - is that still an option?

We have a split stay in April. Our 8 day tickets are linked to our package for the first three nights. After that we have a 6 night room only - how will that work with these new wristbands? And if we decide to use FP+, would it let us make 8 days of FPs even though our package stay that the tix are linked to is only 3 nights.

So confused!!!

I think I found my answer in the Disney Park Experience Terms and Conditions

Quote:
CONVERTING TO PAPERLESS TICKETS
  • Once available, you may convert certain paper tickets or passes to a paperless ticket or pass in the Site/App. Once converted, your ticket or pass park admission entitlements are stored in your account and fulfilled by an RF Device. The paper ticket or pass becomes void and is no longer valid for admission. However, you may want to keep your paper ticket or pass in the event you do not receive your RF Device before your visit or if you are a passholder you should keep your paper pass for validation of other passholder benefits.
  • You are required to convert paper tickets and passes in order to make and use FastPass+ selections. Once you convert a ticket or pass you will no longer be able to participate in the standard FASTPASS service upon arrival at the parks.
  • You may convert up to five valid unexpired paper tickets or passes for yourself and for your Friends.
  • Partially used tickets or passes must be matched to the same person who originally used the ticket or pass. Tickets and passes are non-transferrable and must be used by the same person on all days.
Also, the way I read this concerning the OP's question, you will not necessarily have to "get in a line somewhere" in order to make the transition. You should be able to do this on the website and have them ship the RF device (e.g. wristband) to you. That's if there is time to do this before your trip. I guess if this is an AP, then your RF device allows you entry to the park, but would not contain hotel or charging privileges.

Or alternatively, you don't switch at all and make use fo the old FP system as before... for as long as it is available.

Looks like the bracelet will not be the only RFID device that can be used.
Existing paper tickets will likely get issued new cards or just the RFID sticker they tested last year. It's a simple process and doesnt even require guest relations or ticket windows.. CMs with handheld devices do it at the security checkpoints. It's like scan-scan-done, "Please hold onto your old ticket in case you have issues at the gate."

Passholders will be contacted by Disney.
