Hi Scottmel. I am trying to understand the GV room situation up on the fifth floor (YC). There is four in our party. I requested a daybed, and the CM said that was an option that she would note on our ressie, but if there are only a handful of rooms up there I am getting worried as to what we will get. We can live with just 2 queens without a problem, but that daybed sure is nice . Just exactly what are the options for the GV rooms-2 queens, 2 qeens and a daybed, 1 king???? I don't mind just the two queens, but they won't offer us a room that doesn't fit us all, will they??

Thanks for your help! Any insight you can provide would be great.

From what I've read in the posts here they definitely won't be giving you a king room, even if it is a king with a daybed. 4 people = 2 beds. They'd probably be glad to give you an extra rollaway to supplement your two queen beds, if you have someone who really doesn't want to share a bed, but the rooms look small and the thought of a rollaway shoved into your only walking space doesn't sound very appealing.

Ugh now I'm toying with the idea of keeping a GV CL at YC but willingly taking a standard view if they won't give us 2 Queens in GV. I know not to trust the Disney site, but their YC CL standard room description does say "view of garden, rooftop, or parking areas." Who knows, maybe there's a few that really are garden. (There's one example on Disney.com that I'm curious about. I know the map posted in here is old, but it doesn't look like it matches up with anything on it, as the window/balcony is on a different wall. The room looks a lot bigger, and it has 2 Queens and a Daybed. Also, the TV isn't on the wall but is on the dresser.) Also I wonder how they'd go about refunding the difference in price if we had to do that? (It'd only be like $36 for 6 nights, but money is money!)

Not related to my room debacle, but can someone please tell me where the lounge is at BC? Going by the map posted in here, which rooms does it take the place of? I'm assuming they had to knock out some rooms to put it in, or is it located in one of the orange "housekeeping" spots? Thank you!

The lounge is that orange box right in front the elevator.

Disney revamped the standard view vs garden view categories two years ago so if you pay the extra cost for garden view then you won't be looking at the rooftop/entrance. Those are standard view. I have a chart for BC, let me go find it and i will brb.

There are 4 or 5 rooms that face the wedding gazebo that are garden view. Of those I KNOW 2 have 2 queens. I stayed in them both. One of the two also has a daybed. The other 2 facing the gazebo I don't know anything about. I do know a king bed exists in here somewhere either overlooking the gazebo or if it is the room facing the main walkway. They will NEVER give you a king bed if you are a party of 4. No worries there! Now for the record I have stayed at BWI CL, YC CL and BC CL for the last 4 years. EVERY year I get a daybed except for last year and I never requested it - and we are a party of 3. So look at it this way - if you are at YC - you know you have a balcony so scratch this off the request list. If you are staying GV you will have a lovely view, so scratch that request. Your only request can be "daybed please" vs. a BC request which in my case would have been "full balcony please, no connecting room, no handicapped room, daybed please". See the difference? Don't get me wrong, BC is lovely!!! I just am not a club level fan there but am a BC fan. YC CL is easier to work with

I stayed CL at Beach Club in 2011 and Cl at Yacht Club in 2012, around the same time of year. Beach Club was our very first CL experience and we really loved it. The staff was very friendly and the offerings were great. Our biggest complaint was that the lounge often felt very cramped. We ended up getting food and going back to our room to eat it more than once which was a bit of a bummer because we had a long walk to our room.

I was not super excited to stay at the Yacht Club because it always seemed a bit stuffy to me (in comparison to the Boardwalk and the Beach Club). Well, our visit in 2012, proved me wrong. We LOVED the Yacht Club! The lounge never felt as cramped as the Beach Club lounge. We were always able to find a seat. The staff was very friendly.

If I were choosing between both, I would choose the Yacht Club first every time.

I just had the same issue- could not decide between the two. YC, based on all the helpful comments I have read, has a nicer lounge. BC, however had great views- our Gv room last year had views of SAB and lake ( if you turned your head). I kept waffling: what you know v. what what seems good. We wound up going back to our room to enjoy the view with our food-the lounge is small snd awkward. However, our room was close to the lounge and convenient. Check in there took forever-like 45 minutes.
I went with YC to try something different. One time the Bc lounge ran out of plates- minor issue but kind of odd. Another time we made it back to enjoy desserts and it was all cleaned up 15 minutes before dessert time ended. Minor annoyance but it seemed everyone wanted to go home. Still would recommend BC CL -but the only thing I can compare it to was GF RPC ( no comparison--- fantastic!) but the cost of GF CL is just too much for me.
