It does affect crowds. Nothing like a major holiday, but there is an influx of people during that week.

Jersey week happens during the annual teacher's convention in NJ. All NJ public schools are closed Nov 7-8, 2013 for the convention, making a nice 4 day weekend that lots of people use to head south. (And many extend to the full week since they'd only miss a little bit of school...)

True,True, November 7-8 Thursday and Friday 2013 is the New Jersey teachers convention. And a lot of crazy Jersey people will head south to WDW. So if you plan on going that week, I'll see you there, lol. Can't wait for our magical family vacation....

Thanks for the feedback. After reading some blogs we have decided against it.

It's not only "Jersey Week" but it's the end of the Food & Wine Festival and Veteran's Day weekend.

Will the F&WF still be going on the next week as well?

Jersey Week is so over blown! We've been twice during the Week and I've always thought that Veterans Day and when it falls has a far bigger impact on the crowds. On our first trip, Vets Day was on a Tuesday and the second half of the week was much quieter. Three years later when it was on a Friday, the end of the trip was much busier.

The locals seem to fill the parks on these long weekends, not the good folks of the Garden State.

And the Jungle Jingle 5K Sat AM at AK and Food & Wine 1/2 marathon Sat night at Epcot - when you combine it all it's def more crowded than it used to be - but we'll be there!!

Oh, and most likely the first weekend of MVMCP! Fingers crossed!

Have gone Jersey week every other year since 2001 and it is the BEST! The weekend at the END of that week gets crowded because it's a holiday, but the weekdays are short lines and easy reservations
