2013 honeymoon itinerary thoughts and suggestions???????

My fiance and I will be honeymooning in Disney World this June staying at Wilderness Lodge Honeymoon Room w/ Club Level. To make things even better we just got a HUGE savings on our room with the 20% room discount . Listed below is our day by day itinerary. Please let me know of your thoughts; and any ideas to make trip even more unforgettable and romantic. The only thing that is out is a fire works cruise.

Monday: day at Wilderness Lodge - Check-in around 11 am . Surprise my wife to be to ears to the bride and groom package from disneyflorist.com in the room , get celebration buttons, and spend afternoon exploring Wilderness Lodge and swimming; Sanaa dinner (5:00 PM res - hopeful to get window table to view animals). After dinner; shopping at Boardwalk then shopping at Downtown Disney.

Tuesday: day at Hollywood Studios - breakfast at Roaring Fork (7:00 AM breakfast); lunch at Mama Melroses (12:15 PM res); Boatwright's dinner (7:45 PM res); after dinner Carriage ride at Port Orleans Riverside (9:00 PM res). Then take boat to Downtown Disney for Characters in Flight hot air balloon ride.

Wednesday: day at Magic Kingdom - breakfast at Crystal Palace (8:30 AM res) have someone take our picture at the rose garden before breakfast; lunch at Columbia Harbour House (12:30 PM lunch): dinner at Kona Cafe (7:40 PM res); then watch Wishes from hammock at Polynesian Beach.

Thursday: day at Epcot - lunch at Via Napoli (11:30 AM res); dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse (6:00 PM res) Watch Illuminations from World Showcase (probably France). See below for follow-up questions.

Friday: Wilderness Lodge resort day - breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe (9:00 AM res). Rent Surrey bikes; then pontoon boat in the morning. In the afternoon lunch at Roaring Fork (1:00 PM lunch), massages at Sturdy Branches, and swim at pool. Dinner at Narcoossee's (7:55 PM res) watch Electrical Water Pageant and Wishes from either the restaurant or the Grand Floridian Marina.

Saturday: day at Animal Kingdom - breakfast at Roaring Fork (7:00 AM breakfast); lunch at Rain Forest Cafe (11:30 AM lunch). Dinner at Cape May Cafe (5:50 PM res); or considering Bluezoo. After dinner; walk over to Jelly Rolls for evening entertainment.

Sunday: late breakfast at Kona Cafe (10:35 AM res). Early Afternoon at WL pool and hot tub. I am surprising my wife to be with our last dinner at Victoria & Albert's Chef's Table . After dinner, walk around Grand Floridian.

Monday: morning and early afternoon at Epcot - lunch at Teppan Edo (our last meal in Disney World ).

Do you suggest : For Saturday evening considering switching ADR from Cape May Cafe to Bluezoo; which would you do? For the best Filet Mignon and New York Strip and wine and Pina Coladas should we go to Le Cellier, Yachtsman Steakhouse, or Shulas? I have switched my Thursday Dinner ADR from a 4:45 PM ADR at Le Cellier to a 6 PM ADR at Yachtsman Steahouse; since Le Cellier the tables are too close together and afraid we would have no privacy. Please still give your opinion on which of the three steakhouses you would suggest for the above criteria. We are not on the dining plan. Where is the best spot to view Illuminations in World Showcase (leaning towards viewing it from France)? Should we watch Wishes twice from both Polynesian Beach (Wednesday evening) and from Narcoossee's (Friday evening)? If not worth watching twice, which would you recommend? Any other suggestions to make this honeymoon most romantic and unforgettable (just not going to do fireworks cruise)?

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage! It sounds as if you have really put a lot of effort into your planning.

I think you nailed it on a couple of restaurants for romantic. That would be V&A and Sanaa.

Le Cellier, while tasty, is not romantic to me because of the way you end up sitting on the laps of your nearest dining neighbors. Perhaps not quite as reliable in food taste but more romantic, IMO, would be Coral Reef. However, considering the new signature status of Le Cellier, for the money I would go to Yachtsman or Flying Fish!

I like the way you have put together dining at Boatwright's along with your carriage ride. You are probably aware that while cozy in some respects, Boatwright's isn't exactly a top-notch restaurant. Having said that, I am one that actually likes Boatwright's and suggest that if you continue with your plans you make it a point to ask for the most romantic seat in the house...even if you have to wait for it! If you were going during winter, I would suggest a table near the fireplace.

I would recommend calculating your 180+10 window for making ADR's for BOG and call at 6 am eastern. Spirit of Aloha's reviews are dismal. Just dismal...Wayyy too risky for a romantic honeymoon!

Teppan Edo is yummy but you are seated with other people. Those people can make or break your dining experience. THAT is a huge gamble. Fun. Yummy. Not romantic, in the traditional sense. I actually think San Angel while seated (tell them you'll wait for it) by the river is pretty romantic.

The rest of your plans sound nice! Very nice! Actually, you could leave it all the same and have a wonderful honeymoon. We celebrated our own honeymoon at WDW 28 years ago and are returning in Feb. for our 28th family vacation. Enjoy!

Thanks Belle5 for the great response. We were looking to add in great restaurants not just romantic ones. Sorry if I did not make that clear. I booked all my ADRs the first day I could to get everything I wanted. I booked an ADR at Be Our Guest for 5 PM; however, my fiance loved Spirit of Aloha and wants to do it again. I am not sure though since I have also read dissapointing reviews, I love Jambalaya and gumbo so really looking forward to Boatwright's. What table would you recommend for early June for 7:45 PM res?

Are you asking about Boatwright's? If so, I am unsure which is why I suggested asking the hostess which seat they consider to be the most romantic and tell them you would be willing to wait for it. Like I said, the fireplace in winter...probably not summer (can't imagine they would have it blazing in June)!

I would certainly do Be Our Guest over the Spirit of Aloha show. It's the hot Ticket right now, and It really is a beautiful place.

I've only seen the Ballroom in person. It's large and very beautiful. I saw the West Wing on a Disney Parks blog and it looks more intimate. The Rose with petals falling off of it is in there. I'd say for a honeymoon dinner, it may be a good choice. It's just less people and therefore quieter.

Wednesday: day at Magic Kingdom - breakfast at Crystal Palace; lunch at Columbia Harbour House: dinner at either Be our Guest (5:00 PM res.) or Spirit of Aloha Show (8:00 PM show) then probably watch Wishes from hammock or swing at Polynesian Beach. DH and I went to Aloha Show and we were just okay with it, for us the food or service was not that great, I suggest Cali grill or the Wave.

Thursday: day at Epcot - lunch at Via Napoli; dinner at Le Cellier. Watch Illuminations from World Showcase. Check out all the Countries, most have a garden or quite area, maybe for a kiss or 2

Friday: Wilderness Lodge resort day - breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe. Rent Surrey bikes; then pontoon boat in the morning. In the afternoon lunch at Roaring Fork, massages at Sturdy Branches, and swim at pool. Dinner at Narcoossee's (7:55 PM res) watch Electrical Water Pageant and Wishes from either the restaurant or the Grand Floridian Marina. I personally would either do the bike or the boat, and take a breather and hang out at the pool a bit longer.

Saturday: day at Blizzard Beach - before Blizzard Beach breakfast at Kona Cafe; Dinner at Cape May Cafe (6:00 PM res). After dinner; walk over to Jelly Rolls for evening entertainment. Dinner I suggest Flying Fish, amazing food, service,

Sunday: day at Animal Kingdom - probably 11:30 light lunch at Yak & Yetti Counter Service. I am surprising my wife to be with our last dinner at Victoria & Albert's Chef's Table . After dinner, walk around Grand Floridian. We prefer Flame Tree - take the path and sit on the water.

Monday: morning and early afternoon at Epcot - lunch at Teppan Edo (our last meal in Disney World ). Fun way to end your Honeymoon, do not forget to grab a snack for the ride or plane.

At MK you could walk the Rose garden and make a wish at the wishing well.

I would bring some candy or snacks home with you, to make the magic last.
Bags of Cookies, candy, whatever you like

Buy a Mickey cookie cutter and use it when you get home for Rice Krispie treats, cookies, brownies, or even sandwiches. This will help keep the romance and memories alive.

Also take a picture somewhere of the 2 of you says the rose garden, on main street, Where every you like- then when you come back take another picture in the same place, and as you have a family back to that spot another picture. Every time you visit make it a point to take that pic. You will be making a tradition for your kids to follow on.



Ask for a recipe of yummy dish then try and recreate it at home, another way to make the magic last.

Thanks LovesTimone. I really like the suggestion of taking the picture at the rose garden on Main Street, then on future trips keeping that picture tradition going. That is an awesome idea. We have 8:30 AM ADR at Crystal Palace; and since MK does not open until 9:00 AM we will take the picture at the Rose Garden before breakfast and the crowds are in the park. Hopefully there will be a cast member or person willing to take our picture at that time.

My DH and I did this way back on our Mickeymoon, and their were several cast members the one we talked to.. she was very nice and said I sorry you can't head that way just yet, we explained it was our Mickeymoon, and she walk us over to the garden and took a quick pic's for us. Just some added Pixie dust, If you can't get over there right away, after breakfast, walk through and look for another couple and offer to take their pic if they will take yours.

I second San Angel Inn as being romantic on the water. Bonus is that you can schedule this for lunch, but it looks like a romantic evening meal in the moonlight. This way, you could have two meals that day that appear to be romantic evening meals, even though one could be at noon!

We honeymooned at Disney 5 years ago and have a marvelous time. Hope your experience is as magical as ours was.

I haven't eaten as Hacienda yet, though I do think that the decor is pretty. To be perfectly honest, I am from west Texas and I am rather snobby when it comes to Mexican food. I don't even like the kind that they serve in other parts of Texas because it is too Tex-Mex for me. San Angel Inn is good. I really like it. My family all agree. My sister adored the carne tacos, my grandmother loved the enchiladas, my mother is still talking about the chocolate mousse, and my dad said that the margarita was the best he has EVER had. So, I don't know if Hacienda is better, but I do know that San Angel Inn is very good and the decor is more romantic.
