Hey Kathy, do you know what's even better than an update from Raglan Road? Two updates from Raglan Road!

Christina and her family also dined tonight at...

Raglan Road

They started with this appetizer...

Scallop Forrest - Georges Bank scallops in a golden batter served with citrus lime dipping sauce & sweet chili jam

Then for their entree, Christina and her DH shared this...

Sod the Stew - Beef stew infused with a hint of Guinness

Christine said, "DH said it was almost as good as mine. The kids split the Shepherd's Pie and licked the plate."

Keen eye for the Shepherds Pie

Then for their desserts they chose...

Dundon's Delight
Raspberry pavlova with vanilla pod ice cream and raspberry sauce

Gers Bread & Butter Pudding

Christina said, "The bread pudding was out of this world. Incredible! The raspberry pavlova was very good but would have been better with more raspberry sauce."

And now for a surprise Disney World update from none other than DonaldDoleWhip.

He spent a few days there with some friends earlier during his school break and here are a few pics that he sent from his trip.

DDW said, "Our first stop was Epcot, to hit up Test Track 2.0. We loved it! It feels much more modern and futuristic now."

"For a snack, I got the rice cream with strawberry sauce at Norway's bakery."

DDW said, "This is my favorite snack in Norway - so good!"

"Here's one more picture from Epcot. My lunch at Tangierine Cafe."

Chicken Shawarma Platters served with side of Hummus, Tabbouleh and a Tangierine Couscous Salad
with fresh Moroccan bread

DDW said, "It was really good! I especially enjoyed the tabbouleh, since it's full of parsley flavor."

Good morning everyone!

We don't have any live updates yet, so I'm going to begin posting the results of the December Holiday Roulette Game . Despite the fact that we had only 17 contestants, those 17 managed to score a total of 287 points. That's an average of 17 points per reporter. While I'm grateful to all of you for the contributions which you made to the live thread, I would like to specially recognize our top 5 scorers for their efforts.

Today I am featuring our...

#5 - grrrlennyl

grrrlennyl scored 19 points with the updates she sent to us during her trip from 12/12 - 12/20.
Here are some of my favorite pics from her updates.

LeFou's Brew

Citricos' Warm Chocolate-Banana Torte

From Boulangerie Patisserie: Lemon Tart

From Coral Reef: Red Curry Vegetable and Noodle Bowl
with Gardein Chickn Breast

From Le Cellier: Sautéed Potato Gnocchi
with Butternut Squash, Wilted Spinach, Cranberries, and Sage Butter

Mint Chocolate Cupcake

From Tusker House Lunch: grrrlennyl's "Best Vegan Meal of the Trip"

Stained Glass Window from Be our Guest

From Cinderella's Royal Table: Hearty Tomato Risotto
with sauteed seasonal vegetables and roasted tomatoes topped with a salad of herbs and garnished with a splash of aged balsamic

Happy New Year to all on this thread but especially Barb!

Have been refusing to post on disboards as for the first time in nine years I have no future trip planned but I can't help myself - still been checking in every day to see what scrummy food everyone else is enjoying.

Here's to a lottery win in 2013 and a last minute trip to WDW

Hello, all....

Sorry I dropped off the map. We ended up trading family sickness ( one version was fever, cough, congestion; the other was intestinal) for much of the trip. We still had fun, but our pace and plans got adjusted, and sadly, photos of food got lost in the shuffle. I apologize profusely. My headline food news: Artist's Point. I was afraid the DS's (10 and 12) would not find much to eat, but they LOVED it! In fact the 10 year old said "I wish I had another hand so I could give it THREE thumbs up."

Anyway...sorry again. I feel badly I let you all down. Happy New Year!

All I can say is two weeks from tonight I will be at WDW! I'm hoping to go to the Poly to get a Lapu Lapu with our good friends but I don't know? And I'm not sure where we will be eating but I can't wait!

Sorry I'm a little late tonight, but I do have several great updates for your viewing pleasure.

Our First Update of the Day was sent to us by our third reporter who arrived at Disney World yesterday, glasslipper.

Her first meal yesterday at Disney World was from...

Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory

Fried Chicken Meal

glasslipper said, "DH enjoyed it."

Fish Dinner

glasslipper said, "I liked it but I didn't like the beans."

Jambalaya

"This was very good!"

Then for their dessert, they had...

Beignets

"Very good!"

"DH had ice cream for dessert, he liked it but they gave him so much!"

Then glasslipper said, "We went to Magic Kingdom last night and had a Mickey pretzel as a snack!
It was very good and very cute!"

Next up is a breakfast update from Joyce (Jersette).

1900 PARK FARE
Character Breakfast

First Plate: Biscuits & Gravy, Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, Lobster Benedict, Hash Browns, Bagel w/ Boursin cheese, and Ham.

Second Plate: More Potatoes (never met one I didn't like ), Watermelon, Bacon, and a Mickey Waffle

Joyce said, "Even thought the Benedict was more essence of lobster and the Mad Hatter was clearly at the end of his shift, the food was solid, especially the Boursin cheese on the bagel. And we adored Alice.
Almost made up for the ongoing drama with Katy's lost luggage."

Then we have a surprise update from quietgirl, who I wasn't expecting to arrive at Disney World until tomorrow.

"Best wishes from Royal Plaza poolside!!"

quietgirl said, "We Pricelined a hotel for tonight to get an early jump on our trip, so we're staying at the Royal Plaza near Downtown Disney tonight before we check into POR tomorrow. We walked down to DTD for dinner, and decided on Pollo Campero. Thought about Earl of Sandwich, but it was 6:00, and that line was outrageous!!!

Pollo Campero

Fried Chicken and French Fries

quietgirl said, "I had the 2 piece fried chicken (breast/wing) with fries, and it was amazing! The breading was crispy and flavorful, the meat was juicy (even the breast, which I usually find dry!!), and the fries were great! Loved the choice of sauces/ condiments too."

"DGF got the Citrus Grilled Chicken, but she tore into before I could get a pic- we'll work on that! She had beans as her side, and also got an additional side of chips. She didn't leave anything, and said it was fantastic! She even ate the tortillas that came with the meal!"

quietgirl added, "Interesting tidbit - we got a coupon book at the hotel that had a coupon for 15% off Pollo Campero (and several other places!) and I noticed on the receipt it was listed as AAA discount! Exciting, 'cause we usually go there at least once each trip, and before now, I didn't realize they gave AAA discount!"

Sooooo....my phone died and I have no lunch or dinner pictures Barb, I'm sorry.

Lunch was at Starring Rolls at Hollywood Studios. David wasn't hungry, but DD and I split a Black Forest ham sandwich, chips, and a Red Velvet cupcake. Plenty for both of us and quite yummy. I see now why everyone raves about the cupcake! It's huge, but very light and full of flavor.

For dinner, we walked in the drizzle from our room at French Quarter to Riverside Mill food court. Katy and I had the build your own pasta. We both had proscuitto, garlic, and broccoli. I added mushrooms, DD added chicken. She had alfredo sauce, which was much nicer than my overly oily pesto. David had chicken nuggets. They both had Mickey head rice krispy treats for dessert, I had a 'eh' serving of cherry cobbler. Really like the variety at Riverside, I just didn't make the best choices.

Tomorrow will be fun... '50s Prime Time and 'Ohana! (AND a charged phone!)

We also received some more great updates from DonaldDoleWhip. I will post part of these tonight and the rest I will save for the morning.

First we have a snack update from the...

Boardwalk Bakery

Chocolate Peppermint Cupcake

DDW said, "It was delicious! (and big enough to share)"

He added, "As you often say, Boardwalk Bakery is definitely one of the best places for cupcakes."

"The view from our table was awesome."

"The seagulls flying around were entertaining and scary at the same time."

"Next on our list was Hollywood Studios."

"After some thrill rides, we stopped at Starring Rolls to try their gingerbread cupcake with cream cheese frosting."

Starring Rolls

"With a light dusting of "snow" on top, it tasted just like Christmas."

Check back tomorrow for Part II of DonaldDoleWhip's update. Trust me...it will be worth the wait!

2 January Bonus Points Earned + 2 Miscellaneous Bonus Points Awarded for the "View from the Boardwalk" pic (one of my personal favorite views at WDW ) and the cool picture of the Hollywood Tower.

Thank you so much for posting all these updates! It's exciting to finally be a contributor to this thread, and seeing these pics on here brings back such good memories.

(By the way, my fears of the Boardwalk seagulls aren't unfounded - one time, I was walking along the Boardwalk when a seagull grabbed a Rice Krispie Treat right out of my hand )

After reading all of today's updates, I'm really interested in trying Pollo Campero now - their citrus grilled chicken sounds really good!
