Let's be more imaginative and think outside of the East Coast box! Why not different South America itineraries? Why not Japan--or The Orient with trips along the coast of China, trips to Japan, etc? They already have ABD trips in South America (Peru, Costa Rica), so they can do ABD excursions as part of these sailings...same with China, and now Vietnam/Laos/Cambodia. Clearly lots of interest in Disney in China and Japan with the various properties there (or being built).

The only problem with doing a cruise in China or Japan or somewhere like that is a couple of things they would have to change out all the signage on the ships and change the restaurants out as well, plus the typical Disney cruisers isn't likely to take a trip out to Japan just to take a Disney cruise. Right now the reason they have all the ship on the east coat is they know they can make money there as people want to go to Castaway Cay. Now if they did a longer cruise say maybe 10 days out of Port Canaveral and still had castaway cay people would go on it.

Why would they have to change out the restaurants if they go to Asia?

I think a Baltimore sailing would be my only chance to get my parents onto a Disney cruise, so I'd be here for that.

I'm for sailings out of Baltimore, NJ or NYC! Saves us airfare and would be soooo convenient.

I don't know if they'd have to change the actual physical appearance of the restaurants, but they probably would want to change a lot of the cuisine to some that is more familiar in Asia. Even pizza and other "American food" is totally different in Japan then it is in the US, and if you are trying to attract Japanese cruisers, you need to offer foods that are more familiar.

I think the cost of cruising to China or Japan would be too out of reach for most. Also, the time parents would need to take kids out of school would be too long, especially for a family oriented cruise line.

I've been on some cruises to China and Japan. There were no physical changes to the restaurants or buffet. But to accommodate passengers with different tastes, they added local dishes to the menus, and served Asian food at one of the buffet stations. There were lots of dishes made with noodles, rice, stir fry vegetables, soups, dumplings, Peking duck, and sushi. These dishes were often tastier than the standard fare.

I would love to see one of the ships back in New York.

I think they could do some different ports in the Caribbean...Bermuda, southern Caribbean, Tortola, there are a lot of Islands down there.

I do not think they can send the Magic over to Alaska without making the changes they made to Wonder before they sent her there for the first time.

But, whatever they are going to do I wish they would decide soon!!

Now it's been seen. I'm still waiting on the epxlanation from the crazies who were so convinced.

As to the 2014 itineraries, I'd also like to see Alaska and longer cruises in the Caribbean, at least 10 nights with stops in new ports in the southern Caribbean. How about sailing out of San Juan like many other ships?
