How early to arrive for a show?

Typically how early should one arrive for one of the shows, Aladdin or Believe for example? Do the fill up or can you walk in close to show time and get a decent seat?

If you have specific seat/area you want, I'd suggest arriving 20-30 minutes early. For the most part, all the seats are good. So, if you don't really care which one you are in, 5-10 minutes is good.

I got there about 30 minutes early just to people watch. It was also good because I had specific places that I had in mind to sit. We watched on show in the balcony, one show on the floor, and one show in the little area on the side. I was able to pick my seats and not feel rushed or like I was having to step over people.

We wanted specific seats that had extra legroom so we went about 20 minutes before the show....and got them every time!

They open the doors to the theater about 30 minutes prior to show time and there will be people waiting when they do.

If you want "a seat," you can arrive 5 minutes early. If you want a specific location or a group of seats together, anywhere from 15-30 minutes early. As noted, doors open 30 minutes before the show and there will typically be a short line at that time.

Actually we always had trouble finding four seats together. I would suggest closer to 40 minutes.

Not sure there is an official answer to this. We have done Dream in 2011 and Fantasy in 2012, with early dining for both. On the Dream, they tended to include a few kids in some of the shows as "special guests," so whether for that or other reasons, there always seemed to be a line at the doors when opened 30 minutes before the show, and each show seemed packed to the gills. However, on the Fantasy last month, we were usually able to stroll in about 10 minutes before showtime and sit in virtually any area of the theater that we wanted...not necessarily front and center, but still some great locations. The only "bad" seats we discovered were some in the balcony behind a column, but we were late for that show (a magic show on pirate night), so it was our own fault.

Also note that on certain days, they will add an afternoon matinee, which helps cut the crowds at night, too. In our case, that allowed us to see a show, escort our kids to early dining and still have a relaxed evening at Palo later.
