This time tomorrow, I will need to have everything packed up and ready to go for our early flight the next day. So now, I have all sorts of questions popping up in my head and who else can I ask at 11pm but the DisBoards?

Anyway, I was thinking of who I needed to tip and such and the subject of porters came up. My question is: we are using an off-site parking lot that will deliver us to port via shuttle. Will porters be there to take the luggage off since we will be arriving on a shuttle bus? We have basically our 21" carry-on suitcases and a bag each. Do we check these items in? How much is it customary to tip a porter? $1-$2 a bag?

Yes, $1 - $2 per bag is fine to tip the porter for any bags you are leaving with them to load onto the ship. No need to tip if you are carrying the bags on. Just keep in mind that you have to carry the bags around with you until the staterooms open.

I trust by "shuttle bus" you mean something other than a Disney vehicle. Yes, these will be met by the porters and a tip of $1-2 per bag is appropriate. It is your decision whether to tag and check your carry on items with the porter or to take them onto the ship yourself. Bags going to the porters need to have the DCL tags attached AFTER you get them from the luggage carousel at the airport. DO NOT tag them before your flight.
