Just wondered if you had the choice would you choose the BWI or BC? And why... and if you had children which would you do?

We stayed at BWI on our last visit and were really happy. It was just DH and I. We loved the atmosphere and convenience. This trip we chose BC because we're bringing the kids. We'll get almost the same convenience (HS will be a farther walk/boat ride) withe the benefit of the pool. We want to spend time at the resort and think the BC's pool will provide hours of entertainment

I have stayed at the BWI with small children several years ago. The rooms were beautiful. They had a daybed. We had a large balcony. The main issue was no QS place like Captain Cooks at the Poly for snacks or mug refills. Yes, there were places on the Boardwalk. But, you had to go outside and have someone fill your mug for you. You also had no option other than to eat outside other than for TS dining. There is a little more flexibility at the BC. The only thing I wish the BC could guarntee is the daybeds and the balconies of the BWI. If a daybed and balcony is something you want, book YC. If not, I would choose BC over BWI to answer your question.

BWI. I prefer the overall theme. I am also not interested in the crowds at the BC pool. That being said, I think Stormalong Bay is outstanding and I would be happy with any stay there, but we go in August and we prefer less people. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

I have stayed at both several times, both in CL rooms and regular rooms.
For adults only, I would pick BWI. This is by far my current favorite resort at WDW. I love the rooms, love the lobby, love the location and I love the cast members here. I also love that every room has a full balcony or patio whereas only about 50% of BC rooms do. The two strengths that BC has over BWI: BC has the pool. That's a huge plus if your children are at the right age to enjoy it. This is a great pool for toddlers and also a great pool for older children who are good swimmers and do not have to be watched. For the in between ages, I do not like this pool. For adults only, I do not like this pool. It's noisy, crowded, hectic. BC has the marketplace which is a better source of counter service breakfast items or snacks. BWI doesn't have much at their store and you have to walk a lot farther to get to it. If you aren't going to use the pool, I'd pick BWI. |

We like both BC and BWI, but BC is a clear favorite for me. Our children are ages 5, 12 and 13 and they all love BC. But we're staying at BWI again later this month for two reasons: 1) we stay at BC a ton and my husband wanted to mix it up; and 2) CL at BWI is really amazing - wonderful CMs.
I prefer the room decor at BC, the general theme, the lobby, the general layout of the resort, BC Marketplace for snacks and drinks, Hurricane Hanna's for poolside snacks and drinks and the wonderful music they play around the grounds. It's so easy to refill mugs at the self-serve station (no self-serve at BWI) and nice to have the Marketplace so easily available without going outside. And the pool at BC is just so much better for our family. Can't say enough about how much we all love SAB! There are things I love at BWI, but most of that is related to BWI CL. I don't think we'd choose BWI without CL because there is no BC Marketplace or Captain Cook-type location for quick snacks and mug refills at BWI. Yes, there are many places to grab snacks and drinks on the Boardwalk, but with three kids and different tastes, it's easier to have lots of options all in one place without having to go outside, wait in separate lines or pay at separate registers. As a result and because the CL CMs at BWI are so welcoming, CL becomes even more valuable to us at BWI. The other thing I love about BWI CL is that, if you book a standard CL room, you will have either a garden or boardwalk view. Can't really go wrong there, because garden is likely to have some view of Epcot and the high Illuminations fireworks, and the boardwalk view is a beautiful water view with BC/YC across the lake and the MK fireworks in the distance. I just think it's incredible that we can book and pay for "standard" view at BWI CL and be so close to the lake. But if booking non-CL, my BC vote is even stronger!

BC- better pool and less bus sharing than BWI.

Ha ha! We do too. My kids who are older now think the clown is scary. Besides the pool at the BC can't be beat and there's Beaches and Cream for those dessert fixes.

We stayed at BC with our kids and BWI just the two of us. That's exactly how I would do it again. BC pool is awesome for the kids. BWI a little quieter for us.

Outside of theming, I really dislike that BWI has no place to fill your refillable mug and no QS. I hear though that BWI is more doable to walk to DHS vs BC. BWI has a lot of entertainment and things to see, I remember looking out at BWI from BC and thinking how fun it looked, especially at night!
BC is beautiful, though I don't know if I will stay there again. I really want to try out all different kinds of resorts and BWI and BC were on my list. No matter which one you will choose, I think you'll be happy. Both have a lot of great benefits and it's great to be walkable to Epcot! |

We have stayed at both with our young kids and hands-down, no question, we would choose BC. We really did not care for BWI and we experienced poor customer service there.
When staying in that resort area we always walk to DHS and I really don't think there was any difference in the walks.
