Good Morning, Everyone!
I have two questions regarding our upcoming stay at the BW Villas... I'm sure the answers are posted elsewhere, but seeing as I'm far too excited (and a bit nervous about the marathon), I figured I would save myself a lot of time by just asking them here, so here it goes: 1. I received a letter in the mail saying that the Luna Pool will be closing today for refurb. However, I remember seeing a post elsewhere which said that the pool was actually scheduled to close on the 28th. Anyone have any idea which date it will actually be closed? Or how about a number I can call? 2. We are checking-in on the 11th. I know that normal 'check-in' time is 4 pm; however, we are members of Team in Training and have our Inspiration Dinner that night at 5:30 at another resort. I was wondering if anyone knows of a number I could call just to ask about the possibility of checking in a bit earlier? We rented DVC points from a member, so its difficult for me to call DVC directly, since I am not the actual member. Also, I know this request may not be granted but I would rather try then miss the Dinner entirely/walk in late and interrupt. Any advice that you have would be greatly appreciated!! (Also, if you have any recommendations on how best to get from BW to Coronado Springs quickly, that would help too!!) Thank you all!

As far as getting into your room early, you probably can't. I have always had good luck getting into regular Disney rooms early, but seldom when staying on my DVC points. I would bring anything you may need in your carryon bag and then just leave that will Bell Services. If you find that you are not able to get into your room early, you can at least change your clothes and freshen up prior to dinner. The best way to get to CSR would be to get a cab. You could boat or walk over to DHS and take their bus to CSR, but that would take about an hour (unless the stars align perfectly and it takes about 40 mins). A cab will take about 10-15 mins. So, you could conceivably wait until 4-4:30 to get into your villa, change, and take a cab to CSR for 5:30. |

Good morning! We're staying at BWI beginning on January 29, so we've been following the pool closure news closely! We've been in contact with BWI IPO regarding the issue. A few days ago, IPO confirmed that the pool will close on January 28, and that the letter sent out to guests stating "January 2" was an error. And for a long time, IPO stated that the only option for BWI guests during the closure was the BWI quiet pools. But just a couple days ago (and consistent with past Disney practice) IPO confirmed that SAB will also be available to BWI guests during the Luna Park closure.

Maybe I'm just lucky, but the 4 times I rented points I was in my room before noon.

You can check in at BWV anytime after 7 AM, and leave your bags with Bell Services if you'd like. You'll get your KTTW card and packet, but there's no guarantee that your room will be ready, and no way to request that it be ready early. Some hotels have an early-check-in option, but Disney resorts do not.
Since the DVC villas take a bit longer to clean than regular hotel rooms, rooms tend to be ready later in the day. To be safe, I would plan as if your room will not be ready before your dinner. If you want to change clothes, pack your dinner outfit in a carry-on and change in one of the restrooms at BWV. The quickest way to get to CSR from BWV would be to take a cab. Using Disney transportation, you'd probably want to walk or take the boat to DHS, and then switch to a CSR bus, but that would probably take at least an hour. A cab would be a few minutes. |

As others have said if the pool is closed you can used SAB which is a short walk away. Also getting into your room...we've had great luck getting in early but if you can't I would assume they would have a place for you to get ready for your dinner.

Thanks for the response- we won't have any problem changing elsewhere, so we will just be prepared!
