When DD was 2.5, we asked the room stewart to keep the rails up for us. Lost the couch but DD still took her nap.

We asked our room host to leave the bunk dropped and the sofa folded down all week and he did. he just made them up and arranged the kids' stuffed animals before and after naps.

My normally-crib-bound DS used the bed rails, too. He naps so the room steward left it set up as a bed all week, which was nice. We did have a few nights of him playing the escape from bed game... But thankfully all when we were awake!

The couch in my son's room was left as a bed for my 17 month old grandson with the rails also. He did great!!! Took naps and slept there at night!

Is there a way to request bed rails in advance or are there plenty for all? Really nervous about our little one sleeping in a bed for the first time, but can't imagine a pack n play in a room with 5 people!

You can call (or have your TA call) to add a bedrail request before you sail. As far as I know there is no shortage onboard, but doing it ahead of time ensures that your host knows for the first night. We've requested bedrails every time we cruise with DD and never had a problem.

If you're more of an Internet person, it can be added online to your reservation under special requests.
