Fantasy boarding procedure

All,

Our trip is almost here

Quick question on how they do the boarding of the fantasy, especially how it relates to the concierge guests. When we went on the dream earlier this year, we arrived at our appointed time, and we boarded the ship within 30 minutes of arriving. No long wait in the terminal like we had with the magic and wonder.

What is the boarding procedure for the fantasy?

Did they change the boarding procedure in PC? In jan 2011 for our Magic cruise we waited in the terminal for our boarding number and boarded when called, and same for the Hawaii cruise out of LA. When we went on the Dream last Jan we arrived at our port time, checked in without much of a line, and boarded right away not having to wait like before.

Is that the new procedure at PC, no more boarding numbers? We thought that they just handled the larger ships differently to ease crowding in the terminal.

Thanks

The general boarding procedure is: about 11:45 (sometimes earlier) they will start boarding. Concierge goes first (#1), then Platinum Castaway Club members (#2), and then boarding #3, 4, 5, etc. Boarding numbers are assigned based on Port Arrival Time selected during the online checkin process. This is how it is handled in PC, and LA.

Our boarding time was noon. But since we were staying on Disney property an using the bus we didn't arrive till around 1 or so. Once we arrived it was pretty much a breeze. Went through getting out luggage checked through, and then waited a couple of minutes to see someone to check in. But we were upgrading so then we had to go down and wait and see the other deck clerk at the end. That took longer. Once we did that. I was able to check my 5 year old in the kids club or well get hi arm band and then we were able to walk right onto the ship. And our rooms were ready. But since we changed rooms our luggage didn't arrive until after dinner. Hope this helps

The proceedure was changed at PC in August 2011. You do get the boarding number but if you arrive at your selected PAT you won't have much of a wait until your boarding number is called, and it may be open boarding after 12:30 or so. The PAT enforcement has helped to ease the crowds at the terminal.
