Count me in! I think I'll make my goal 52 books. According to Goodreads I read 40 books in 2012, but I may have forgotten to record a book or two. A book a week should be doable. I'm in the middle of reading The Fault in our Stars right now and then I have 223 on my to read list. I don't think I'll have a problem finding 52 books to read.

Hey, a book is a book, is a book....if a publisher says10, 100, or 500 pages is a book, who am I to argue?

I'm in! Because I'm a teacher, I find it very challenging to get reading in, but have been doing more lately. I just finished Wicked and am now reading A Discovery of Witches. There's a book club thread over on the DIS Unplugged forum discussing it.
![]() Put me down for 12 and anything beyond that will be a bonus!

Sounds fun! I used to be a reader, but not so much lately. I will set my goal at 12. Will start with "Yes Chef", I got it for Christmas. Looking forward to it!

I joined Goodreads last night, both to get recommendations and to record books that I've read. I selected seven categories and just started clicking away. When I looked at my final lists, I was astounded to see that I had rated 50 books and wanted to read 50 books in every category! I swear I hadn't been counting, it just ended up that way. I was too tired to try to figure it out last night, but I want to print out a list of my "want to reads" to take to the bookstore today. Queen Colleen

I would love to join this challenge! I love to read but just don't have the time this year. It's been an extremely busy one. But DH got me a Kindle for Christmas so I'm hoping that should make it easier.
Normally for me it would be much more but I'll stick to a realistic goal and set it at 25 books for the year. (2 per month), What an awesome idea! Thanks for starting!!

Love this! I was always an avid reader until I got my iPad. Since then, instead of reading every night, I fool around playing games and reading Facebook on the iPad until I fall asleep. This year, it's back to reading for me! Two that are high on my list are The 12 Tribes of Hattie and Defending Jacob. Going to look for an App to track my reading.

Updated the first post up through here.
Happy New Year everyone! And now we officially begin. As you complete each book, remember to come back here and post what # you've just finished. We'd love the book title too and whether you'd recommend it or not, but not necessary. Important thing is that we have a way to track our goals and share our progress with other readers.

I'd love to join, too. I think I'll go with 70 books. I don't have any specific titles, but have a number of books stored on my kindle. I tend to just read what appeals to me at the moment.

Absolutely the BEST book I read in 2012!!! Night Circus was very different, but a close second. Enjoy!
