I'm going to say 50 for now, I read like crazy and this leaves room for graphic novels.

Right now I'm looking forward to the Walking Dead graphic novels and Sherlock Holmes stories (blame for the RDJ films and the BBC series).

Count me in! Put me down for 18 books...a good stretch for me, given my other time commitments! I joined Goodreads a few months ago, and I'm wondering if there is a way we could set up a group there for all of us? It'd be a great way to keep track of what everyone else is reading and to get some great ideas too...

some time ago, I did start a DIS group on goodreads, called of all things, DISreaders. We could use that one, or start a new one.

Hmmm... I suppose we could just share our Goodreads name and DIS'ers can then add whoever they want to their friend's list in order to get updates/book reviews, etc.

I'm Threeboysmom over there. I'm not really sure how the friend's section works since I don't use it much, but I'm assuming you can just search for somone and then add them as a friend...

I will join in....I think I will set a goal at 30 books for 2013. I just ordered a few books to start the year:
Death Comes To Pemberley by P.D. James
Shroud for a Nightingale by P.D. James
Triptych by Karin Slaughter
All The Pretty Girls by J.T. Ellison
14 by J.T. Ellison
and I have a few Lisa Jackson books at home that I haven't read yet.

I prefer crime thrillers and historical fiction -- most of my books fall into these two categories.

How fun, I want to join! I needed a fun New Years resolution, and this is right up my alley. Reading is my favorite hobby! I'm one of those types who doesn't read anything to deep....mainly fiction; chick lit, romance, some suspense. Every now and then I will indulge in the occasional self help book or memoir.

My goal will be 24 books. I don't have a backlog, but I'll make sure to have something lined up as I finish each book....that way there's no downtime!

Do a search for DISreaders on goodreads and request to join. I'll add you!

Can I join? I love love love to read!!! I write down the books I read every month and just counted what I read for the year. 177! I don't know if I could do that again, but I would love to try. Maybe put me down for 100. I would love to try to reach that, but who knows what this year will bring. This is such a great idea!

How should graphic novels be counted number wise? At least for TWD some of them are pretty thin.
