Love the pirate themed FE, Jeff. We put down about 150 feet of laminate a couple of weeks ago in our storage room, so I am positive that you need something to get you back into vacation mode after 500 feet.


Nicki – No real rules for the FE. Beth-I may be ahead with clothing, but I'm way behind with getting our FEE gifts together! I haven't even started yet. I have a pretty good idea of what I'm going to do, I just need to get going.

Nicki-I have a 13 year old DD too. However, she doesn't do e-mail or facebook or any of that, so hopefully our girls will meet up on the cruise. I'm a little worried about her this cruise because she is pretty shy and doesn't make new friends easily unless they approach her. Our last 2 Disney cruises her BFF's family cruised with us, so they stuck together in the clubs. I unsure if I will even be able to get her to go to the clubs by herself.

Then we should definitely meet up with our girls. We've been on several cruises and my kids have always always made friends and had such a blast in the clubs...especially my DD, who loves her independence. She is also pretty shy, but still has such fun. I can't imagine a Disney Cruise not being the best yet for the kids.

Oh that doesn't sound good about the lady at JoAnn's! If you're truly interested, I'd see if there is an actual sewing machine store near you - My local one is a Brother dealer, so that's what I have. My embroidery machine is a Brother PE-770 - only a 5x7 hoop so I wish that was bigger, but the 6x10 hoop machines are $$$$$$! I also have a Brother serger and a Janome (Brother company) sewing machine, so I'm kinda partial to Brother I guess, but they've all been good for me so far!

I'm one of those crazies who sews clothes for the kids to match any and all occasions - Disney trips included! Well, my son doesn't really want me to make him anything this trip - I guess he's too cool now for all that - but my daughter is all about it! Wow, that was probably way more information than you bargained for, huh?

Whatever you do, I'd steer clear of Singer brand - I hear nothing good about them.

I so wish I could sew. My mom and grandma have both tried to teach me and I still can't even hem a sheet. I sew like a drunk person (according to my mother). Having to pay for things like the FE make the sewing bug even stronger! Maybe ill give it another shot this summer.

Yes, groups are now closed and locked in. Several families wanted to be part of more than one of the groups so that is why you see some in 1 and 2 and several in all 3.

Thanks for the advice Lori. I will look to see if we have a Brother dealer in our area.

I am by no means a professional sewer, but do like to dabble a little. It is so much easier to dream up ideas for me than it is to actually make them. Plus, I find that most of the “tutorials” on the internet tend to leave out steps that they are doing when the camera is not running and it is those steps that give you the really nice finished product.

Thank you, Katie, for updating the first post to show that the FE groups are all closed. I have really been enjoying making my gifts and can’t wait to be able to deliver them.

dismom73 and nickiB, my DD is 13 too. She is pretty mature for her age, but can by shy around new people. She is excited about the cruise, but not exactly thrilled to be in Edge with her 11 year old brother, so I am happy there will be some other girls her age there.
