WDW day /Galveston itinerary ticket question

We are cruising from Galveston next month! I wanted to know what type of ticket we will be provided for our Disney day? Can this ticket be upgraded?

It's a park hopper but I don't think it includes the water parks, Disney quest or mini golf. Just a regular 1 day park hopper

On previous cruises it has been a one day park hopper, but it was a special ticket that is good that day only and could not be upgraded. I'd guess you'll get the same thing.

It's too bad the ticket can't be saved for another trip. Surely there are some people on those cruises who have WDW annual passes, and don't need theme park tickets.

Just like there are some people who aren't using the onboard movie showings or midnight buffets, but these are still included.
I am glad they don't nickel and dime us at every turn.

Everyone who is on the cruises that port at PC as one of the itinerary ports gets a ticket. It's included in the fare.

On the Magic 8 day sailings that call at Port Canaveral the cruise includes a 1 day park hopper good for that day and bus transportation to WDW and back to the ship.

It's fine that they include the theme park ticket in the cruise fare, but it ought to be a non-expiring one-day park hopper.

Why? As it's part of a specific cruise, they want you to use it then.

Theme park tickets are a required part of free dining packages at WDW, but the tickets don't have to be used at that time. It shouldn't matter to Disney if I use the ticket at the time of the cruise, or use my AP and save the ticket for another visit.

I believe DCL and WDW, while both "Disney" in name, are separate entities when it comes to the finances and such. When buying theme park tickets as part of a MYW package with dining, you are essentially purchasing all parts from WDW. There is nothing else part of a DCL cruise that anyone can essentially take and use later, so that is likely at least part of their reason to keep the single-day special ticket for the PC excursions. Though I can understand it would be a benefit to you if it was a regular undated PH that could be used later to renew your AP. But I believe it's a special ticket that cannot be upgraded.
