So GS will put the limit on their cards? That's good to know. My kids will be receiving Disney gift cards from family so I was thinking I could load those onto their KTTW cards when we board and that is what they would use if they saw something in the shops they wanted to buy. When they use up their giftcard amount, they wouldn't be able to charge more.

This is not accurate.
During on-line check-in, you need to provide a form of payment for your onboard account, and accept financial responsibility for the people in your cabin. This just means that you agree to pay for their expenses, but doesn't mean you are giving them privledges to charge with their own KTTW cards. Regardless of who has charging privledges, you can always print your forms.

They can NOT set limits. Charging is either on or off. You can monitor their spending by using the stateroom tv or by going to guest services.

Yup! But, the arcard card absolutely has a limit....so if you refuse charging privledges on the kids' KTTW cards there's no problem. You just buy the arcade card for the amount you want them to have...and when it runs out, you can either re-load it or tell them to find other activities.

The arcade is a separate area. It is not part of the club or lab--separate room, separate floor on all ships. The arcade is open to anyone of any age.

There are times when the Edge group does "Invade the Arcade." For that time, all the games are set to free play.

On the arcade card, the limit is whatever amount you have loaded onto the card. There is no way to limit a child's charging on their KTTW card--they either have charging or they don't. And there is NO reason that a kid needs charging to do anything in the programming.

Another thing we've heard of older kids doing is to convince a younger kid with charging to put money on the big kid's arcade card--yeah, not cool.
