Cell phone service
Is there cell phone service when at sea or in port? Our ports are Cozumel and Castaway Cay.

Castaway has the same cellular at sea as the ship.
Many ports have internet cafes, some of which rent international cell phones )In St. Croix, it was $3 for 30 minutes). As above, you'll pay international roaming charges if that isn't part of your plan. |

The Cellular At Sea option is turned on whenever the ship is about 3-6 miles or further from land. So, you use whatever country's service you're in when you're in port or close to port, and the ship's service when at sea. There are some cases where the ship is far enough at sea to have Cellular At Sea turned on, but where you are close enough to land such that you can also pick up the signal from land. |
