Anyone dined at Shutters very recently? UPDATED

I have read that they have a new chef and the menu looks really interesting. I like the sound of a couple of the desserts! (Chocolate Rum Blackberry Cake $7.99, Banana-Peanut Butter Cake - $7.49) I realize this restaurant has a terrible reputation...but a lot of the reviews out there seem pretty old. FWIW, we have dined there three or four times over the years but not in the last 8 or so years.

We dined there a couple years ago (2010). Food wasn't bad, but wasn't anything special either. We used it as a last minute "I don't want Counter Service for dinner" meal. In fact, we didn't even have an ADR. Just walked up and had a table within a minute.

I don't even remember what desserts, if any, we got. That's how memorable it was. Those desserts you mention, though, do sound pretty good.

Really? I love Shutters, it's one of our favorites! I've never stayed at Caribbean in my adult life, but we always make a trip over for a casual meal there.

I'm looking for a REALLY recent review...like maybe someone who was there over Thanksgiving or Christmas since even the Disney Food Blog review was earlier in 2012...well before the new menu and chef.

I ate there this past summer, the NY strip steak was awesome. Service was a bit slow, but the meal was yummy.

Thank you! Do you know if they were offering the current menu at the time you were there? Did you have dessert or anything else?
