we are staying at the comfort suites inn on friday night. I think a rental from budget is the cheapest. I did call cocoa transportation and never heard back from them so they are out. I am going to look into tiffany transportation for the ride to disney.

For what it's worth...WDW does have a couple of rental agencies on-site. I'm not sure which ones, maybe National and Alamo, though I'm fairly certain it isn't Budget, Dollar or Thrifty. You might be able to do a one-way rental from port to WDW.

We also never heard back from Cocoa Beach Transportation after a couple of calls to them.

I think the cheapest we can find is about $165 for a full size and we only need it for 36 hours- I wish there were an easier/cheaper way.

Have you scoured mousesavers.com for codes and coupons for various rental car agencies? You're looking at what is officially a two day rental (we'll be in the same boat if we decided to cancel DCL transportation to the port), which can be more expensive than a week sometimes, but you should be able to get it down a bit with codes/coupons.

The Budget is in the Doubletree at DTD.

We are taking a minivan from there to the port and on the return to MCO.

Both legs are $60 (one way rentals) each way using codes I found on flyertalk.

We have 5 people, so its definately the best way for us to go. The shuttle to and from the port is free......

We used Ace Luxury Transportation when we went in 2011 and plan on using them again this year. Loved them. $120 for a family of 4. Plenty of room, they knew what they were doing and exactly where to go. They were timely (even early but did not rush us), so courteous and I would highly recommend them.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express near the airport (no frills, but free shuttle from airport and breakfast included), Ace picked us up there and took us to the Port. They picked us up from the Port and returned us to Orlando Airport. Easy Breezy- and I thought the price was great!

We went crazy on our last trip!

With 6 of us - DCL transfers are pricey! So DH looked into a van. But for $20 less than DCL would have charged us....HE GOT A STRETCH LIMO!!!!!

But he didn't tell us! The kids were so excited to see the Limo pull up to the hotel and wonder who it was for! Boy were they over the moon when the driver let them look inside and sit inside. Then he asked where we were going, and "offered" to take them!!!!

So much fun!!!

Can't afford to go Concierge on the boat, so we rode to the port in style!
