Port Arrival Time Question

We are travelling with a group of 13 people and all of us, except for my sister-in-law (party of three) have an 11:30 port arrival time. She didn't realize you needed register for that on-line and by the time she did, she got a 1pm time. We're wondering, what the odds are that they let them on the boat with us at 11:30? We're wondering because, if dcl won't, they want to get their own rental car rather than riding over with us and then having to sit in the port for 1.5 hours.

You are not getting on the ship at 11:30. Your PAT allows you to get into the terminal to check in between 11:30 and 12:00. You will be given a boarding number when you check in. That number is assigned based on your PAT. Your SIL will be given a higher boarding number than the rest of your group with the later PAT. When the PATs started, DCL released a statement that said if members of your party had later times and you wanted to check in with them, you all needed to wait until the latest number before you could enter the terminal -- and similarly wait until the highest boarding number to board. Should you expenct them to be allowed to board with the rest of your group with a lower number -- no. Will they -- that depends on the CMs that day.

Boarding cards are given out one per cabin. If your SIL is in a cabin by herself, she'll be assigned to a higher number (and thus a slightly later boarding time while she waits for that number to be called). If she is in a cabin with someone who signed up for an earlier terminal arrival time, she'll be allowed to board with them.

I just re-read your post, It seems that you have a cabin of 3 with a later time...so that cabin will have a later time to enter the terminal and to board the ship. Her cabin won't have to wait till 1 to enter the terminal--as soon as boarding starts, the crowd clears out rapidly. If you all arrive between 11:30 and 12, you'll all probably be able to enter together. However, again, you should all wait till her number is called if you wish to board together. Will the CM on duty allow you to all board together at the earlier number? Maybe...but that isn't the way the system is designed and is frankly unfair to those who did follow instructions and have an earlier boarding number.
