Nervous about room.

We booked our cruise and this time we figured we didn't need a balcony and such so we picked a Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom (One Large Porthole Window with Seating) It looks like it is on the 5 floor...

anyone have any experience with these rooms??

thank you in advance.

We stayed in the large porthole rooms on the 6th floor our past cruise. It was nice , and you could see a ton. I didn't miss the verandah. My boys are young, and it made me kind of nervous. The large porthole was nice, because they could sit and watch without me having to worry.

thank you.

I loved the verandah but we didn't "use" it, might as well let someone else enjoy it.

We had a large porthole without the window seat on deck 5 last year and loved it. Deck 5 is a great location and is nice and quite with very little traffic in the corridors.

Enjoy!

Our last cruise we stayed in a Family Deluxe with a large port hole on the 7th deck. We LOVED it!! Here is a link and you can see if there are any reviews for your room. Just put in your room number.

ITA! We were on deck 5 with an 8A with two of those large portholes and it was amazing!

So you've cruised on DCL before and had a verandah? The room is basically the same. Put a big window where your verandah door was......

Our kiddos have stayed in category 8 rooms on two recent cruises (one Dream Deck 6 Aft and one on the Fantasy Deck 7 Fwd) and they loved it. My dd actually said she prefers that over a balcony room as the room is a little longer, the "desk" area is a little longer and has one more section of storage. They also have the rainhead showers which my kiddos love.

I have to say on our last cruise, I went out on the balcony once, when we were leaving a port. Otherwise, I never used it.

Enjoy!

We had a large porthole with window seat on deck 7 last winter. Our DD (7 at the time) loved it! We've never cruised with a verandah, but I didn't feel we were missing anything.

Enjoy your cruise!

Yes, thank you, DH said it probably took the space of the verandah!

The verandah was nice. Beautiful to stand out there.. but for the $$ we put in for it we didn't spend enough time out there. I would rather put the $$ on an excursion.
