Has Concierge Fare ever dropped in $$$

Currently have a 5D booked on the fantasy for Feb 15th 2014 sailing. Considering a CAT V bump (extra $1421 for 4). Has the price on concierge ever dropped? I'd imagine once availability goes down, price goes up. So just wondering.

thanks

I followed 2013 closely and made a spreadsheet of pricing, yes overkill. The pricing for 2013 concierge cabins never budged from opening day pricing, neither up nor down.

With that being said, I have heard (but not observed) that concierge pricing can and has gone up.

Probably best not to wait to book.

If you are willing to chance it, you can wait to upgrade at the port which I've read can give a decent discount. But there's no guarantee a concierge room will still be available on sail date, so if your heart is set on concierge it's better to book it now since there are limited rooms available.

Enjoy your cruise.

Having sailed Concierge on 10 of our 12 DCL cruises (Magic, Wonder and Dream), I can honestly say I've never seen the price go down. The past few years, as disneywonderfun observed, the prices have not gone either way from the opening day prices. In the past, the Concierge prices did go up as more cabins were booked, just like the way DCL does pricing on all the other cabins.

I think the price for concierge will go up. We decided in November that we wanted to do a 4-night in a 1-bedroom suite in May of 2014. Since that itinerary was not released yet, we made a budget based on the same cruise only in May 2013. With the 2013 price, the cruise was over $6000 for three adults. When I booked the 2014 sailing, the price was only about $3,800. I couldn't find out if the 2013 price was opening day or not.

Lets see if this site is allowed:

http://www.cruisefish.net

Up top, click on "finder."

Select Disney on the left. Select your ship. Select your sailing. If the category price is red, the price went up. If the category is green, the price went down. If the category price is black, the price for the category has never changed. U can click on the price to see a price history.

I'm obsessed with the site! I check it before booking or upgrading a category. And, yes, I've bought credits to have the site alert me on price changes on cruises I'm tracking. A few bugs here and there, but overall a great site, and the credits do not expire, should you choose to buy any. (I'm not affiliated with the site at all even though I sound like a total shrill right now ...)

You are not alone! I love that site and I've bought credits for alerts. It saved me quite a bit of money on our upcoming Baltic cruise. Our suite price went down because of a kid sail at half off deal for European cruises!!

It is rare but we have had a price drop once before, but the whole cruise price (meaning every category) had a price drop, that happened January of this year. Usually we watch concierge pricing as well and it is pretty consistent like an above poster said, neither up nor down. Not sure about popular sailings like the MV or holiday cruises as we book these from the beginning and usually they seem to be sold out so we don't even recheck the pricing.

I too am obsessed with cruisefish.
Does concierge ever go on sale? YES!!!! I just was a luck person that picked up the Walt Disney suite on a 3 day Dream. I watched cruisfish then saw it get marked DOWN 30%. I surprised I got it because it took me 2 days to confirm I could the cruise 2 months out.

Your best chance at discounts is last minute(1 or 2 months out) and off peak(Oct & Nov).

Thanks for sharing that site. I had been going onto the DCL every couple of days to see if things have changed. This is much easier. Even though I have one booked, I just like to track the price trends.

I usually get these short blocks of time where I'm between projects and there isn't really anything I can start so I usually check the DIS boards during these times. Now I have something else to check if there isn't anything new on the boards.
