resevation question

I am a DVC member but i went through a TA to book my upcoming cruise on the dream. I did not use any of my pts because we aare taking another vacation to DLR. My question is... SHould I have mentioned i am a DVC member? Does it really matter since i didnt use my points... Are there any benefits to stateing that i am a DVC member? Thanks for the help

DCL does have a way to know if you are a DVC member and they do have DVC get togethers onboard that you would be entitled to go to. It can't hurt to let them know, just in case your resv slips through the cracks (has been known to happen). There is also a DVC desk onboard and if you stop by there you can let them know you are a member and they usually hand out hats and things.

On our last two cruises out of NYC they had a DVC rep walking around the waiting area handing out lanyards to any DVC members.

In terms of the reservation, no, it doesn't matter.

However, if there is not a DVC magnet on your cabin door when you board, you'll want to stop by the DVC desk to be sure you are on their list--this will assure that you get the invitations, announcements, and gifts. Typically the Disney systems interface with each other so they already have members on the list, whether booked with points or cash. We have been missed a time or two though.
