DCL Tervis - Buy it early in the cruise if you want one!
Just a heads up if you are interested in buying a DCL Tervis tumbler on board.....
We were on the Magic last week and went to Mickey's Mates the first evening of the cruise. They had six DCL Tervis tumblers (16 oz size) on the shelf. I debated whether to buy one then or wait - and decided to go ahead and buy it then so I could use it on the cruise. We went back to Mickey's Mates the second night of the cruise and the DCL Tervis tumblers were gone. In the name of research for my fellow Diser's, every time we stopped back by the gift shop throughout our cruise I checked to see if they had restocked the Tervis tumblers. They never did. So, if you want a DCL Tervis, buy it when you see it in the gift shop because they may not be there later!

That is weird...on my October Fantasy cruise there were a TON of the DCL one and the Aquaduck one, and they kept restocking them.

The thing that I have learned about DCL merchandise is that if you see something you want, get it. Whether its a popular item or not. Don't wait till later. You never know how much of a particular item they have on board on any particular cruise (unless you ask).
Once they run out of something, there is no restocking until it returns to port. |

I know, same with our November cruise. I wonder if they are going with a new design and phasing out the product. I love mine and so glad I got it. I got the DCL one.

We were on the 11/3 Magic and there were always plenty of Tervis tumblers in Mickeys Mates. i debated because i didnt know if i'd like the smaller size but broke down and got it on the day when you got a free bingo card. I agree with maybe getting a new design since the New Year is approaching.

If you ask nicely, a CM will call you when they are re-stocked. I was in on our cruise looking for water wings, they didn't have any however a CM said that he'd take our room # and call me if he could get a set. The next morning, got a message he was holding one there for me
Worth asking if you want something you don't see.

Here you go...Disney friends at left, Castaway Cay in middle, and AquaDuck on right. I only saw the AquaDuck one on the 12/9 Dream cruise sold in Whozits on Deck 11. The friends was sold in Mickey's Mainsail, and the CC was sold at She Sells Sea Shells on CC. I don't think any of them sold out during my cruise. They were $18.95 each.

Wow! We are heading to our first Disney cruise in February, and I had no idea that they had the Tervis tumblers on board! I should have guessed.
![]() We've always gotten the WDW mugs at the resorts, loved them and still use them at home. So, I went on Tervis' website and actually ordered tumblers for the family for Christmas gifts that we can take on the cruise. We each have a different Disney character on ours, DH and mine has colored inserts that look really cool, and I was able to personalize with our names on our tumblers too. I ordered bigger ones for DH and myself. Now that I realize we could have gotten them on board, I am still thinking ordering was the way to go. If you haven't checked out the Tervis website and the big Disney selection they have, you should!

I ordered another tumbler directly from Tervis yesterday since they are running a free shipping offer. I especially like the DCL specific ones, though. Can't wait to take a cruise where I can buy a Castaway Cay themed one!

I purchased the Castaway Cay one on our Thanksgiving cruise. The DCL one and AquaDuck ones are a bit too juvenile to use at the office. Would LOVE a Tervis with just the DCL logo - I'd get a few of those!

Love me some Tervis, so I was looking forward to grabbing a DCL one as soon as I saw them when boarding the Fantasy last week. Mickey's Mainsail had tons of them, but I decided to wait until Castaway Cay to see if they had that one on the island (as if a Disney cruise is a place to exercise reasonable spending habits, I had just planned to get one or the other -- ha!). I have been reading on these boards that both versions have a tendency to sell out quickly. (Already had an Aquaduck version from Dream last year). As someone else stated above, there were more than enough of each of the three choices throughout the entire cruise from 12/8 to 12/15.
What did I learn from this, in light of prior posts that I'd been reading over the last couple of months? It is always a guess as to what DCL merch might be available on any given cruise. If you think you might want it, your best bet is to buy it immediately. If you change your mind later in the trip, you can return it to the gift shop for a refund. DD10 wanted a certain Fantasy pin, so she got it early in the trip. A cast member later gave her the same pin, so we were able to swap it for a different one (technically got a credit to our KTTW card/account and then just bought a different one). Similarly, I had been reading how scarce the CC 5K t-shirts could be on the island, so I was anxious to get to Buy the Seashore to get one before they sold out of my size (I didn't run this time, but ran it last year when there were no shirts at all). Not only did they have plenty of shirts all day, they now have two styles (one with the race logo and another with the big block letters). Now they just need to create a Pirates in the Caribbean and a standard DCL logo Tervis to keep us addicts happy on future cruises! If and when they start making them for the parks, I'm going to be in real trouble.
