Tell me about the Tea with Alice

Does it have tea and sandwiches like a traditional tea? I am wondering if my dd 13 might be too old for this. Let me know.

Thanks,

We went twice on the Magic this summer. They served apple juice with the same chocolate chip cookies you get from room service (but cold). The show is about 20 minutes and then there is meet and greet after. Alice and MadHatter pick two children to join them on stage. The show is cute with singing, dancing, and "lessons" on drinking tea. I don't think she will be too old and it's not that long if she doesn't like it. Seating is limited so if you think she will hate it then it's better to give those tickets to someone who will enjoy this.

Thanks,
I believe they have cookies and apple juice, actually. And they talk about proper tea etiqutte. It can be Tea With Alice (or the Princesses, or Wendy, or Disney Friends). It depends on what characters are available for it.

It's fun, something to do while at sea, you get a photo with the entire cast, cookies and apple juice and a chance for your kids to get on stage with alice to have tea...nothing to break your neck over going too, but make reservations as soon as you arrive...

Pick up tickets from guest services immediately on boarding. They are included but only a limited number are available.

As above, the food is apple juice and a cookie. You aren't there for the food; you are there for the performance. It is cute.

If a 13 year old is taking it at all seriously, she is probably too old. On the other hand, I had a group of 17s and 18s who wanted to do it as a bit of tongue in cheek fun (one girl had played Alice in a school play...) They thought it was a blast.

Tickets--guest services on day 1. They are free but very limited. The concierge will also have a stock. IF you get tickets and decide to do something else at that time, PLEASE turn them in at GS, even at the last minute. There are often families wanting to attend who were unable to get tickets; they will be thankful for your change of heart.

If you don't have tickets, you might want to go to the area anyhow. On one recent cruise, they had 2 lines--one for guests with tickets (got in as soon as doors opened) and one for guests without tickets (got in IF there was space). They've finally realized that wasting the space of guests not showing up doesn't serve anyone.

It all depends on your daughter. If she loves Disney and meeting the characters, then it's a fun 20 minutes. If she's the type that would rather be at the teen club or laying in a deck chair, then you have your answer.

We did it last year with my 7 year old daughter (who was picked to play the White Rabbit). It was cute, and she had a blast. She still drinks hot beverages with her pinkie sticking out.

No, only the classic ships.

We won't be boarding until 3:30pm (we live 30 minutes from the port and I'm trying to keep my kiddos in school as long as possible). What are our chances of getting tickets?-- Katie

It depends on your fellow guests! If you can't get them, ask if they will wait list you. Also, the concierge holds some till the end of the first day, so you might be able to get those if any are turned in. We've gotten them on day 3 and been told they were all gone on day 1.
