Poll: Are you working on Christmas Eve?

I'm sure most retail workers are, but what about office folks?
Our office is technically closed but a few of us are going in (time and 1/2) in the morning. If we didn't, (because our work is daily stuff), by Wednesday, we would have a mess on our hands!

I voted other... I am NOT working, but it's because I took a vacation day not because our office is closed.

Yep. Horses have to be tended to no matter what day it is. They don't seem to care about holidays .

I have to work Chistmas Eve but don't get time and a half because it's not a holiday recognized by my company. If it falls on a Friday or Monday we usually have it off though.

My office is closed. We originally were supposed to be open, but appealed to 'higher powers' that none of our customers or factories that we work with are open, so we opted to drop Columbus Day as a holiday (because, I mean, really?)

DH's company is open. His boss (small business) was waiting to see what their job schedule looked like, and decided last week that they were busy enough to stay open. I say boo to that, but oh well.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Same on New Year's Eve and Day.
It's okay though, I get both overtime and holiday pay for those shifts. I will focus on my family the rest of the week.

My office is close the entire Christmas week. However; since I'm a contractor, i don't get paid if i don't work. So I will work on the 24th, 27th, and 28th. The 26th is also a holiday for us in Canada. It is Boxing Day. So at least I'm only losing two days pay that week. It is going to be a ghost town in downtown that week.

I'm not sure whether to vote "no" or "other." I am not working, but the office is open. I am taking the day off.

I think I'd rather work Christmas Day than Christmas Eve. My extended family's big get together is Christmas Eve night (church, meal, presents). By 8am on Christmas Day, Santa's presents are opened and it's all over. I am glad to have Christmas Day off as well, but I think if I had to choose, I'd rather work Christmas Day than Christmas Eve.

I will be working my usual 8-430 shift. The office is closing early at 5. We are closed Christmas day but I'll be back at it on boxing day. It's not even a stat here : (

No, but it's because I'm taking a vacation day (as will virtually everyone I work with). We only get Christmas and New Year's Day off.
