How hard to get standard vs lake at BLT? - The DIS Discussion Forums

We are planning on an early Dec trip and I'm wondering how hard will it be for me to get 12/7-12/14 2013 standard studio at BLT if I book on my 11 home resort date? We have exactly 102 more points to use for 2013 and would like to grab that week in a standard and not have to borrow pts. Thanks, experts!

If you call right at 9 am Eastern Time on the day of your 11 month window you should be able to get your standard studio. Wait too long and all bets are off. Standard view is tough, I think all standard views are only on floors 1-4. If for some reason you don't get it, waitlist.

It's not even all of floors 1-4. It's (I'd have to go back to the rooms and views thread), but I thought it was only floor one and then portions of floors 2-5. Very few standard view rooms (though, will be more in 2013 due to reallocation).

Lake view is the largest room category (most of inside crescent and outter edges of outter crescent). Easiest to get.

Your best bet would be to book online. The online window opens at 8am, a full hour before MS.

I have been shut out of standard view at BLT at the 11 month mark for December, and I was trying to book a 1 BR. They go very fast.

Don't wait till MS opens at 9. Try to book online at 8 a.m. EST. Good luck!

I've tried for 3 years for 1BR Stnd BLT in mid December, I've never gotten it.. We always ended up with a lake view. I didn't realize there were so few rooms. I always call first day of ressie or the week of, 11 months out. I might have to try the online thing for next year.

You might want to consider walking your reservation if you don't want to bump up to lake view.

We're hoping for a 1 bedroom standard view for that same week. I'm trying to decide if I should walk the reservation or not.
