I posted this because of a couple of articles this year.
http://articles.latimes.com/2012/nov...fcase-20121126 In 2012, Americans will leave an average of 9.2 days of paid vacation time unused. In 2011, 57% of Americans did not used all of their earned vacation time. http://money.cnn.com/2012/05/18/news...days/index.htm I love being in ROWE now. While my job is certainly not brain surgery, if I were to ever need brain surgery, I would hope my surgeon would take as much vacation time as possible! I have worked with a great deal of hospice nurses and not once has one of their patients ever said at the end "Gosh, I wish I had worked more." |

I usually take two weeks every year. But not back to back. We skipped summer vacation this year so Christmas vacation will be two weeks. Taking a week in feb and planning something for summer too. 4 weeks for me this year. I plan to lose no leave.

We generally take 3 weeks, plus long weekends to places we can drive to within a half day.
Typically 1 Week WDW or other Disney trip 1 Week Cruise 1 Week Other So, this year, we did 1 week on a Royal Caribbean cruise, 1 week at a Dude Ranch in Colorado, and 1 week on a Disney cruise. We did long weekends to San Antonio, Galveston, and Dallas. We sometimes will do a two week or even longer trip if we are flying somewhere that requires a particularly long flight, such as Hawaii or Europe. In general, we prefer to take 3 individual 1 week vacations, however.

I get 25 days. I use them all and even borrow vacation if I have to. I'm a big believer in vacation

I earn 30 days of vacation a year so I'll take that in various combinations. I have a great flex work schedule so I take alot of Fridays or Mondays off for three day weekends.

I get 3 weeks of paid vacation time...usually take 1 or 2 whole weeks for a trip depending on the travel budget for the year. Either roll the other week over for next year, or take some random days off here and there.

I take 6 or more weeks a year. This year, I went to New Zealand, Fiji and Australia. I just figure if I get myself there, I might as well stay and explore the countries in the area.
Next year I am headed to Asia - 5-6 countries there before heading over to Austria and Germany. I also do shorter trips with my kids throughout the year. But I use miles for almost every trip, so that helps with the expense |
