I don't understand why some men are so averse to buying gifts. Is it because they don't know what to buy? Is it because they hate shopping? Is it because they think Christmas will wait for them?

I feel so petty after reading some of these other rants, but the only thing that has really bothered me so far this Christmas season:

Trying to find Christmas cards that actually say "Merry Christmas" on the front! I dug through an entire lot the other day that all said "Happy Holidays" or "Season's Greetings" !!

OMG...I have too many rants to list this year but I had to respond when I saw this one. My DS's teacher did the same thing to us. One of the two biggest reports of the year is due December 20th (when my DD was in the 4th grade, her report wasn't due until January 20th).

And add me to the group with a DH that only has to buy for me (and I buy for everyone else) yet he contributes no additional money to the household fund so I have to pay for it all. And I have to give him a detailed list of what I want and where he can buy it or I won't get anything. Oh..and I do buy my own stocking stuffers to make sure I have something.

He isn't a bad guy...he is just shopping impaired.

OK...I have too many more rants. I would need my own thread.

But I am blessed that my family is healthy and we will all be together for the holidays. My thoughts and prayers go out to those dealing with the loss of a loved one this holiday season

I am fully aware my rants are petty, shallow, fill-in-the-blank, and yes, I have many things to be thankful for, today and every day.

Doesn't mean those things don't bug me, though and I knew I wasn't the only one irritated by those "little" things.

I work in the nations leading electronic store so my rant is the same as it is every year at this time:

It's not my fault that we don't have the xyz that you need in stock. I just work here, I don't place the orders for merchandise.

It's not my fault that there is a line at the register. I left my area to come to the registers to help out as fast as I could. I apologize for the wait but I don't make the schedules.

It's not my fault that you don't know the name of the video game, CD or DVD your family member told you they wanted. There are about 25,000 different titles that it could be. Could you singe a little or act it our for me that might help. Please don't tell me it is the one that they are playing on the radio, you saw an ad for or little Tommy's friend has it. That doesn't help me help you.

It's not my fault that you may not get your item in time to put it under the tree since you waited until today to try to find it. I will do the best that I can but I am not Santa and cannot guarnatee Christmas delivery.

While I love helping customers, please understand that store employees are just that: we don't make schedules, order merchandise or are mind readers. Please be patient and help us help you. A little thank you and consideration goes a long way. And we do apprieciate the opportunity to help and your business. Please just keep your expectations real.

Wow, so weird because yesteday I was looking for some that say "Happy Holidays' or "Season's Greetings" and all I could find were "Merry Christmas" cards!

FYI: Walgreen's in particular had tons and tons of "Merry Christmas" cards.

I ordered my own Xmas gift from DH last night. Probably the only thing I'll get this year.... last year he gave me nada and was quite fine with it. He said that he doesnt need presents... I told him I do.

To get out of going to my sisters house Xmas Eve, he said I dont have to go to his parents on Xmas Day..... I told him no just to make him suffer......

Gonna be a great holiday!

Here's my rant:

I've been doing a lot of shopping, as usual, and I have to say, im sick (SO SICK) of every store playing the same flippin Christmas song! This is why im sick of xmas music, cause they tend to play the same ones all the time in every single store!

WHY!? Cant they do a mix of regular & xmas music? Does it have to be ALL xmas music?

Also, I hate wrapping. This year im sticking everyone's gifts in gift-bags. Dont care. I might wrap the gifts for my DS12, but thats it.

Have you tried stapling the top of the bag all the way across? No way they'll get inside the bag then! Sure its not as pretty, but at least it prevents the gift-reciever from peeking as well. im considering doing that this year.

While I'm thankful to have many generous friends and family, I'm tired of spending the past month trying to come up with gift ideas for my kids (and worry about who we might have already given the same idea to so as to not get a bunch of duplicate things).
