Sunpass Toll not Deducted
We were in the Orlando area over Thanksgiving.
We have had a sunpass mini on that particular vehicle almost 2 years and never had a problem. I went online to add money for our drive to our cruise and it has not deducted the toll. I am almost positive there was a tollbooth at the entrance to the turnpike. Husband was driving and I was not totally paying attention. We took 27 from Davenport to the turnpike about mm 280. We did not go through the big toll plaza but must have gotten on north of it. Is it possible it did not register to deduct? Could it still post 2 weeks later? Should I be expecting a ticket in the mail? I had funds to cover it at the time--my balance shows just under $10 and I have been much lower w/no problem. I know the turnpike from I-4 is about 2.50, so this would be less. I looked over their site and could not find any info and hope you all might know what could have happened. I don't want to add more money if it is not working. |

Does your Sunpass balance now have enough to cover that toll if it comes through tomorrow?
Are you sure there was a toll charged at that ramp you said you entered? Not all ramps have tolls and at a few interchanges only the ramps going a certain way have tolls. Have you used your Sunpass and had a toll correctly deducted at least once before this incident and at least after this incident (time and date wise)?

I have almost $10 on account and have had since our last trip a few months ago. We go about 5-7 times a year and have had this sunpass mini on this vehicle since we got it in 1/2011 so it has been used and replenished several times. We came down to Tampa and across to Orlando and headed home, so this would be the only toll this trip IF there was one. I wonder what you are saying about only certain ramps having tolls. We came east on Highway 27 from Davenport and got on the turnpike somewhat north of our usual exit which is the Western Beltway leading to Disney. If I call can they tell if my mini is working, or should I figure there was no toll? I will need to add about $25 to get to Fort Lauderdale and then Orlando afterwards, so I want to make sure the mini has not come loose. I don't know how it could have. Here in Illinois we have cameras that take pictures if a toll isn't paid. I rented a car once and entered it on the transponder account per there their instructions. When I went on line to check my account there were a bunch of toll charges that car. I had to go to the toll office and show the rental contract proving I didn't have the car when the charges occurred. They removed them. surpass may have the same system and if you owe anything it should show up.

Oh, by the way, all highway ramps in the Orlando area that do have tolls have booths. Not just a plain roadway or roadway with a thin metal arch over it, although some of the booths are exact change or electronic only.
