Family Games for Wii

I want to get my best friend and her family a family gift for Christmas. I am thinking a Wii game that they could all play together, so I am looking for suggestions. The kids are 4 and 7 and I do know they already have several Wii Dance Party games.

My kids and husband always liked Mario pary 8. (not 9..that is a dust collector) We haven't used the wii in about a year. My 7 yo nephew came over on Friday and they played the wii with him. My ds 11 and dh have been playing that game for 2 days straight.

I would say Mario Party 8 as well. Lots of fun mini games.

I just looked up Mario Party 8 and Amazon wanted $70 for it!! and most other places it was either out of stock or they only have used versions.

My kids really enjoyed the Olympic Games or wii Sports Resort. Resort needs the MotionPlus sensor. MarioKart has been a huge favorite too and kids of all ages seem to like it at our house. Carnival Games is kind of fun for those classic fair games.

I know giving a game that is used as a gift may seem very freaky weird. As a "gamer" family, we would be very OK with it.

I like used games from gamestop because you can return them within 7 days if you don't like them. If you buy it new you are stuck with it, or sell it back at a loss.

If it would be OK with you to buy it used ( and I understand if it wouldn't be) maybe pair it up with some snacks and call it "game night"

We are not a " gaming" family but last year we got a wii for our girls 5 and 13. We also bought the disney universe game. It was a little hard for my 5 year old since we had never played video games before but we loved this game so much we went out and bought 2 more controllers so we could play with our girls. Wish they would of made a Disney universe 2 this year.

Buy used. Go to a Gamestop.

I love Mario Party 8. Carnival Games is also fun as a group game for all ages. You will also have the Sports game that comes with it for more group games.

I know people rave about Mario Kart. I have never played. One of these days I will check it out.

I have a 9 and 7 yo and Mario Party 8 and Wii Party are both great games to kill an afternoon. They especially love the hide and seek in Wii party.

All but one leaves the room. You hide the remotes, pressing 'A' to mark them as hidden. Then invite everyone back in. For the next 90 seconds the remotes make a barnyard animal sound every 10 seconds. Points are scored the longer it takes to find them.
