If it were me going on a cruise with just my adult friends, I might be prone to pick a time less busy with kids at school. My SIL is from states and says spring break is generally in February... Canadians in March. If there is no fee to switch, I might consider swapping to the 3rd or 4th week of March when us Canadians have the kids back in school eh?

Good morning fellow future cruise friends
I was wondering, our DNephew will be celebrating his birthday while we are on the cruise. I was thinking of secretly decorating his door. At our dollar store in Ontario, we have these jelly clings that say 'Happy Birthday'. Do you think those will be fine for the magnetic door. Does anyone know if the window clings work on the door as well or is it just magnets?

I am also not a big swimming fan, but I do like to rest on a lounge chair and feel the fresh ocean air
Does Disney have a policy about chair saving? I find it very upsetting to head out on deck to find almost every chair empty but with people's towels that you never see people sitting at? Now that there will be 4 adults and 3 kids together I think we may have a problem finding seats together?

I think DCL limits the number of kids onboard so they do not over crowd the kids clubs. The adult pool never seems to be very busy, several times we had the pool all to ourselves. Chair saving is still a problem at the pools especially on sea days. We always hit the pool deck and Aquaduck as soon as we can after boarding as this can be the least crowded time during the whole cruise.

Even if for some really odd reason they don't stick to the door- you could put them on the mirror in the bathroom for the day or porthole/sliding door if their room has one. Fun idea! Quote:

I heard something about "seat saving" on the ship from cast mates several times. They are trying. The reason why they want you to use magnets is it doesn't ruin the door or leave a residue. Some of those gel ones have left residue on our windows, so I would just be very careful. I had my mastectomy last week and it looks like I won't have to have radiation, which is good; all the lymphnodes that they took came back negative as well. We still haven't canceled the cruise, so I'm trying to talk DH into letting my best friend come with me instead. He's thinking about it, as I'll be right in the midst of my chemo sessions. I'll be talking to the oncologist on Thursday about this! |

Good point on the 'residue' of those gel clings too. Also glad to know the CMs are trying to do something about it! Since you were just on the Dream in July- that is pretty current info. Continued good thoughts for a smooth recovery! Liz |

The chemo was very hard on her... That being said, you may wish to push the date of your cruise up if you can without a penalty? You don't want your man with you for this fight? However you decide my prayers to you.

My husband works and, while his job has been very gracious throughout this whole thing, he will be very limited in his vacation days for the coming year. He has said that he would be fine with it. Just because I go somewhere without him doesn't mean he's not supporting me or that I don't want him there. Sometimes, it's just not feasible for him to be with me due to some work commitments. |

Hello all!
Just checking in a bit late with everyone!!! We'll be on the cruise (our 2nd) with our best friends and their two boys (their 1st). We're so excited! We'll be driving down and staying at Vero Beach through the rest of March break before driving back. So no parks for us on this trip... Our friends are nervous cruisers...and not big Disney fans ( I know right! Seriously!) So we won't be joining the FE gang for this one. BUT we're still just as excited to join the discussion as see what everyone is planning for their trip.On our first cruise, we stayed on board in Nassau, and really loved the quiet ship. Although I think my boys got a bit bored - as there weren't too many activities going on that day. This time I've booked the excursion to the fort (so something small and laid back). I'd love a cabana - but they're all sold out - I'm sure some of you got lucky! ![]() No other big plans for us. Palo for brunch (that'll be a first), Stingrays on CC (another first) and lots of relaxing and goofing around! If any of you with teenagers are looking to connect before the trip, feel free to PM me. My eldest son is 15 so he'll be headed to the teen club on his own, the other three boys will be 12, 11 and 10 so they'll all have each other in the tween club.

Ticker
Not sure if my ticker is wrong. All I know is I'm ready for my first cruise. I do hope the weather is nice, and a little worried about water temps for some of the excurisions I have booked. Have read that March the water is still cold. Booked a hotel near the ship for night before cruise. I understand that dress up night is the 2nd night of cruise. Are yall dressing up? DH in slacks and long shirts?
