I would skip Parrot Cay, because Animator's and Lumiere's are decorated better. But a lot of the decision would be based on what night you're in which restaurant. I wouldn't book Palo on the first or last night. Pirate night works well because it's my least-fave menu, and you should be through with dinner before the action starts.

Some people prefer to spend formal night in Palo because they're already planning to dress up. Others avoid Palo on the Captain's Gala night because of the lobster served in the MDR's.

On the short cruises, some people just reserve whatever night they can get because reservations are so limited.

Some people just reserve brunch so they don't have to miss any night in the MDR's. But brunch is offered only on sea days, so if your cruise doesn't have many at-sea days, your options are limited.

The problem is that you don't know which dining rotation you have at this point so it's hard to decide which restaurant you're going to skip! You might be more concerned about which NIGHT you'd rather miss...i.e. you're willing to skip pirate night in the MDR or WANT to spend formal night at Palo, etc.

That is exactly how we decide which night to book Palo. The theme is set so we make sure that we do not miss either formal night, pirate night or the last night in the MDR. On the Fantasy that is a little different because the annimation show is one of the last three nights of the cruise.

We always pick pirate night for Palo or Remy (depending on the ship).

Me too!! In our b2b's coming up I've already called, figured out which dining rotation I should request and then booked Palo to fall on Pirate night! I don't like the menu or the atmosphere!!
