The room was pitch black, and I walked toward the restroom and standing by the restroom was a man that looked startled to see me. He shoved a blanket in my arms and said, "Here is your blanket you ordered"and rushed out of the room. I really didn't think much about it because I thought my daughter or son-in-law had ordered it. I just went back to sleep but the next day questioned my family and no one knew anything about it. Sunday night I put the extra lock on the door. At 4 in the morning, my husband and I both sat up in the bed when we heard someone open the door but the lock kept them out. We notified management and they told us they would do an investigation so we waited all day and a manager finally called and said it was just a misunderstanding, they were in the wrong room! This was just not an acceptable answer! I don't believe anyone should be entering a room in the middle of the night while guests are sleeping. My daughter is a photographer, and admitted she had left expensive equipment out of the safe, so we wonder if someone cleaning had seen it and was coming back for it. I don't know, it just didn't seem right to pay that kind of money, and feel unsafe. The manager had kind of an attitude and didn't see anything wrong.
When you stay in a hotel and are in the room, always use the security latch. But when you are out of the room, there really isn't much you can do.

I'm so sorry this happened to you , this gave me chills just reading about it.
I agree you should go higher up and tell someone about this, it needs to be taken care of.

We called back and talked to a different manager and he just said they investigated, it was the wrong room, and they do have the right to enter when something has been ordered. He acted exactly like the previous manager, that it wasn't a big deal!!!! It was a big deal to us, to have a stranger wandering around our room while we were asleep!!! Now, I will ALWAYS use the extra lock. We truly believe someone in housekeeping told about the camera and lenses (worth about 10,000) being left in the room. I was shocked my daughter hadn't left them in the safe, but she rotated her equipment each day and hadn't locked them up. She also learned her lesson from this incident. We were just shocked that employees can enter rooms whenever they want.!!!!!

wrong room...

when you call housekeeping they know which room you are in - and if you ask they tell you. It is always right. So how did they get that wrong????

I know, that is what's so disturbing. The manager said the blanket was supposed to be delivered to the same room as ours on the third floor and we were on the second. I can understand a mistake but I don't accept allowing their employees to enter a room in the middle of the night while people are sleeping. The blanket should have been left outside the door.
