I also am very happy to report I got a standard sedan Dec. 13-19 for $143 with Alamo Insiders and fifth day free, after they sent me an email. The link to that is on their website. Had a rental for $205 from Dollar and was a little leery about Dollar at MCO anyway.

Even though we aren't going to be in WDW, we are renting a car in Fla in 12 days. We have different pickup and dropoff sites though; I just went on and tried a new reservation and we went from $245 to $108. I can not believe it! Yay! I used AARP, plus we are Emerald Club members, and I found a coupon code online.

Budget still best

I have been looking at rental prices for Dec 28 - January 4 for several months and prices don't seem to be changing much. Standard SUV for $359 is still the best I can find. Has anyone had success with other companies and coupons?

Budget continues to be our best bet as well. We have a one-week SUV rental for $302 taxes included, less a $25 coupon for a final total of $277.

Alamo (who we love) is still showing this morning as almost $800 for a compact car .

You're going to be onsite, right? Your signature says that you'll be at POFQ in 2012. The Budget at
WORLDGATE RESORT

3011 MAINGATE LANE
KISSIMMEE, FL 34747 US

still has cheap(er) cars. Use the DIS code Y937800 and the $20 off coupon MUWZ003 and you will get a full size for $208 with taxes (the coupon comes off when you return the car).

Pick up service is available and you can drop off at MCO. If you belong to Costco I think it would be $167 with taxes using the Costco codes (special pricing plus $40 off). You need to search for DAVENPORT, FL for this location to come up on Costco Travel, but KISSIMMEE, FL for it to come up on Budget's website.

You will NEVER get the super-duper cheap deals that people got in the start of the month over NYE so you'll need to be satisfied with "good, not great".

Not sure what type of vehicle you were looking for but picking up FLL and return RSW is $134 inc taxes for a compact with Alamo through Costco.

I'm picking up & dropping off at MCO on 12/23 - 12/27 and the best I can do is $186 at National. Feels like I'm buying the car instead of renting it for a few days.

Just booked with Budget. Pick up & Drop off @ the Doubletree on Hotel Plaza Blvd. Pick up 12/26, drop off 01/02. I used BCD Y937800 & coupon MUWZ003. Rate is $199 (tax incl) plus we get $20 off on the return.

Just wanted to report that this worked like a charm for us!

Took a taxi (rudest female driver EVER!!!) - taxi charge was $31 (they suggested 15 - 20% tip) - I gave $3 (didn't even want to do that as she was horrible!) Anyway... checked in, we had reserved the most economical car class possible - ended up driving a 2 Door Black MUSTANG all week!! It was DD and I so it was perfect! $110 + taxi fare for 5 nights - thanks robinB and DisBoards!
