I have a dummy cruise floating and was hoping for an itinerary with San Juan. But the prices are not anywhere near what I am willing to pay anymore -- especially considering what better deals we've gotten and seen on other cruise lines. I'm no longer willing to spend $4000 to $7000 on a verandah room for three just for the ability to be on Disney with the same old tired itineraries!
![]() I might spend the lower end of that on a 10-day cruise with a completely new itinerary, but I don't see that happening any time in the next few years!

We moved a dummy booking to a 7 night cruise 1/25 for my DDs 18th birthday. DD wants to bring her best friend with her and there are no suites on the Fantasy that hold 6. I'll probably move the booking to a date farther out and book a 2 bedroom Haven suite on the Epic. She doesn't care what cruise line we choose as long as it's a cruise.

Mine is 100$ cheaper than the lowest I was expecting.
![]() Now, if I am going on a cruise in January coming, can I apply 10% off the price I pay now, or would I get 10% off the price that it is at that time? |

We booked, my room cat 5E is the same price I paid for an 8B in 2012. So we are happy, it's only a 4 day as I couldn't afford the fantasy. Hoping to see some new york cruises!

I looked at possibly booking a 7-day Eastern on the Fantasy as a graduation gift for my DS.
That price was $2,000 MORE than what I am paying for our 7-night Western Thanksgiving Week of 2013!! It looks like my family will probably start trying to take advantage of some GT rates .... or we'll be saying bye-bye to DCL forever

I did move our two dummy bookings to 2014 dates, however, we need to cruise at either spring break or during the summer so it is highly unlikely that we will actually go on those cruises at the current prices. I didn't have to pay anymore to move them so can sit for a while and see what happens.

Cruises out of NYC and Seattle/Vancouver would occur during the summer months. We won't know that until they release those dates for the Magic/Wonder.

Agreed.... Off peak sail dates are priced accordingly. For those that think Spring Break and Summer rates are high, try another cruise line. We did... Can't wait to go on the Oasis again...

Moved a dummy date but won't use it at the price we booked. It is getting harder for us to see where the Disney difference is worth the cost.

I guess I was just shocked at the dates we were looking at. We usually can book off-season, but with one in college, we have to be less flexible (she won't be with us if we do our 4-day extended family cruise this April and is very sad
).So I looked for the second week of March when she has a week off and I was shocked. About $2000 more than we are used to ($7277 for 3A/2K in a 4D Fantasy). Guess college break is as big as Easter break?? Thought maybe doing the first week of January since the other kids would just be "extending" their winter break, but it is again a Western and we've never been able to swing an Eastern. Looked around on RCCL and can do Freedom of the Seas over Christmas break in 2 verandas for the price of March and no one would miss school (let alone it is much cheaper if we did original dates). Decisions are getting tough. College DD was the biggest balker of doing another cruise line and youngest thinks it blasphemy to not be home on Christmas day. Just waiting it out...

HOLY RUSTED METAL...I know the Eastern itineraries are typically higher with the extra sea day, but after reading some of the posts here, I did an inquiry between the 8/24th Eastern sailing in 2013 and the 8/23 Eastern sailing in 2014. YOWZA! It's like a $2K difference. THANKFULLY...we are using DVC points to pay for the cruise. Otherwise, it wouldn't be happening. And ironically, the DVC points for the 2014 cruise are less because it put the 8/23 sailing in 'Regular" season versus "High Regular Season" which is where it is in 2013. Bizarre.
I also have to agree with the overall quandary. I LOVE LOVE LOVE all things Disney, but in some cases, just cannot justify the difference in cost. We are heading to Alaska in June (2013). I would have LOVED to do the trip via Disney, but the price of an Inside cabin on Disney gets me a verandah on Royal. I actually like that itinerary a little better too. So...we will still do Disney where we can...but other cruise lines are definitely in the hunt at this point.
