I am wanting to go back for my 30th birthday. The is in April of 2014. So is it to soon to start planning? I did our 1st trip on the fly planned it in a month. This time I want to have options. Not at all too soon. You could price out your options, whether you're doing all out dream vacation or budget vacation, add say 2-6% for inflation, then make a savings plan.
If you have the Disney Visa or other benefits cards for flights etc, this far out, you could really make a plan to maximize savings from them. You could also do a timeline, ie in "Aug 2013, make room bookings", "Oct 2013, make dining reservations". Vacations are over so fast, a big part of the fun is the anticipation! |

Nope. Not too soon at all! We haven't even made our first trip yet and we are already starting to plan our second for October of 2014.

It's never too early to start planning a Disney vacation! Part of the Magic is in the planning, anticipation, and excitement of it all

I say it's not too soon. We haven't even gone on our first family trip and I'm already mentally planning the next one. LOL. We're going in January 2013 and I don't think they released the 2013 rates until September 2012, so you probably won't be able to book anything for a while. I started planning our January trip around February.

Never too early! We currently have two trips booked, but i already have plans for september 2014 too! It's so much fun to plan and anticipate. I agree with others, planning this early could really help with a savings plan.

I have to plan for my parents also. And they are on a super tight budget. I know a few things I think I want: *I know I want to do a girls breakfast with the princesses for me, dd and mom. *I think we want to stay on site so we dont have to worry about a car. My parents have to fly in and we will be driving down. So we will have one car. Just not one all of us can fit in. I guess I just need to scour the site for more info

Too soon? You meant that rhetorically, right?
![]() If you haven't already figured it out, the DIS is filled with people who (A) love to think about Disney everyday and (B) love to plan. Planning is half the fun! So as most will tell you - it's never too soon. We went the first time in Jan 2010, got back and immediately starting planning for our second trip with my parents in Dec 2010. We got pregnant with twins so we haven't been back since! Next trip is Sept 2013 and, yes, I am already planning. The more you read, the better prepared you will be stay at the best place, get the best prices and make changes. Some thoughts to get you started on where to stay for a group of 6 on a tight budget (or at least you said your parents were) - You'll either need two rooms or a suite. A suite can be more economical than two rooms at some places. However, DVC members rent out the 'points' they would use for suites at the moderate and deluxe resorts at a price that is much less than the rack rate. So you could stay at the DVC suites in say the Contemporary for a comparable, or cheaper, price than two rooms at a moderate resort. This can get complicated by discounts or incentives (free dining) offered on the rack rate rooms that are not available for DVC rental. I recommend taking a look at David's Vacation Club website. He runs a great matchingmaking site for renters and rentees. I didn't know DVC rental my second trip. So I found the a cabin at FW to be very economical for us and only be a boat ride from the MK (where we spent most of our time). Happy Planning! |

Never too early! We usually start planning our next vacation as we're pulling out of the parking lot on the last day of our current trip. Planning is half the fun!
