Your parents look lovely... that is kind of funny that you ran into them in Epcot...
... hmmm is this Epcot love genetic? Yummy Food & Wine pics... Hey...my boys just surprised me with an owl in Japan... I LOVE owls... hmmm. mine is white... I have to see is I can find the sheet to see what white symbolizes... (I hope its something good... )Morocco really is quite a beautiful pavilion... but I'm just particularly fond of the whole France-Morocco-Japan stretch...

Oh Epcot! I love that park!
That flamingo in Mickey ears is just too cute. Wow, I've seen some bad Swiss cheese pictures on SE but Wingnuts is really bad! Note to self, don't look down.

I'm with you, I totally want the mickey flamingo! Maybe when we move back into a place with a yard, I'll convince DH that we NEED it, lol!
![]() Oh my gosh, poor wingnut, he looks like his future has seen better days, I sincerely hope his future is less swiss-cheesey!

Ahh, that flamingo! It's awesome! I'm actually getting my mother that for Christmas, because she loves those tacky plastic yard flamingos. I don't think a yard should be a requirement for purchasing one. Like you said, it could've kept Planty company.
![]() Who doesn't get a kick out of Blueberry Boy on LwtL?? Sounds like you two were having an enjoyable time at Epcot, hope it transfers over into your ADR...

Wingnut! You should have let Stringbean buy the Mickey ear wearing flamingo. Who said you must have a lawn to have a lawn ornament? I actually bought one of the flamingos for John because he thought it was the cutest thing. He's out in our yard right now...protecting my marigolds.

You know I share your EPCOT love.
I have to say that I wanted to walk right into the cranberry bog, too! Dunno why. I sampled the spinach pocket from South Africa and it was super yummy! I loved Food and Wine, I felt like it was World Showcase on steroids. And never fear...Blueberry Boy gets plenty of love from me. I ride Living with the Land everytime, although for us its usually after Soarin'.

Hey, if I could live in Disney World, I'd totally be okay with restaurant patrons looking in on me while I'm at home.
You are so right, Blueberry Boy is the one I always remember too! You absolutely do not need a lawn to buy a flamingo lawn ornament with Mickey ears. Because it's AMAZING! We are so on the same wavelength with the cranberry bog! I think of I Love Lucy every time!!!! There is a winery close to where we live that does a wine stomping festival every year. I'm not going to lie, I'm so tempted. So so tempted.

STICKY. TOFFEE. PUDDING. (And other dinner items.)
We retrieved our buzzer from Rose & Crown. F&W seemed to guarantee that every available horizontal space that could possibly be used as a seat would be occupied, so DF sat on the fence.
![]() I chose to stand, knowing that with my level of grace, I would end up having to be fished out of the World Showcase lagoon. We only waited for a few minutes before our buzzer buzzed, and we were led to a table inside the restaurant. I was briefly disappointed we weren’t seated outdoors, since the weather was gorgeous, but soon was entertained with questions like “why is there medieval weaponry on the walls?” ![]() Besides, we had a nice view from our table, so that was fine by me. ![]() (Wingnut had the added bonus of this view as well. )![]() We checked out the menus, and I’m sure that absolutely none of you are shocked to hear that DF wanted to try the Scotch Egg. I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t slightly apprehensive of the concept (a hard boiled egg encased in sausage and then deep fried), but said that I would try a bite. It soon arrived, accompanied by “fingers” of buttery toast and mustard. ![]() I politely let DF take the first bite. Because I’m nice like that. And because I was politely and nicely waiting for his reaction. And of course, we all know how the story goes, the Scotch Egg was awesome. DF called it “deep fried breakfast,” and I don’t think that description is too far off from the truth. Along with our appetizer, a bread basket arrived. The bread was very good, warm with Epcot-shaped butter. ![]() (If the butter isn’t shaped like that intentionally, I don’t want to know about it.) Our server was really sweet, and she came over with anniversary buttons for us, which she wrote our names on with little hearts. ![]() We thanked her, and I was excited to have some flair to wear on our trip. We don’t normally end up ordering the same entrée, but here we did (and actually, come to think of it, this happened a couple of other times during the trip as well. I like to think I’m an excellent entrée influence.) We both got the Surf and Turf, which came with fried fish, a steak, mashed potatoes, asparagus, a Yorkshire pudding, tartar sauce, and gravy. ![]() Oh, and a lemon. This dish was great, it was a great “sampler” of the menu items. We enjoyed everything on the plate, the fish was nice and flaky, the steak was well-cooked. Funny enough, my favorite item was the gravy, it was really really good. Around this point, our server returned, laughing and carrying more pins. “You must have been laughing at me!” she exclaimed, “I just noticed that it says engagement on your ticket, not anniversary.” (When she had given us the anniversary pins, I kept thinking that I remembered putting down “engagement” under the “Disney Dining: You Have To Be Celebrating SOMETHING” dropdown, but maybe I had checked the wrong option.) We reassured her that we definitely did not laugh at her, and our anniversary was right before our trip anyways, so those pins did somewhat apply. She gave us the two other pins she was carrying, this time the Happily Ever After ones, and told us to keep them as well! We thanked her again, all laughed, and put on our new flair. Random picture of the wall: ![]() OF COURSE we had to order dessert, and we both got the Sticky Toffee Pudding. When our server returned with the dishes, she had a bit of company with her. She announced to the restaurant that we had just gotten engaged, and led everyone in a rousing trio of “hip, hip, HOORAY!!”’s. After that excitement, we dug into our Sticky Toffee Puddings. ![]() Words literally failed me when eating this (and that is VERY difficult for things to do – I am a very chatty person). I just kept taking bites, looking at DF, and laughing. It was that ridiculously good. Basically, it consisted of a cake set like an island in this buttery buttery cream sauce. The combination of the two was just rich, warm, sweet, and an excellent way to really kick off our Disney trip. (Saturated fats:  ) “Can you imagine a meal starting with that soup from Bistro de Paris and then having this?” I commented, attempting to mentally calculate how much butter that would entail. DF laughed. “Paula Deen would be thrilled.” Needless to say, of course we finished all of our desserts. We had an excellent meal at Rose & Crown, the service was absolutely wonderful, and the food was great. We seem to flip back and forth between going here and Raglan Road on our trips, mainly because there are so many different types of cuisines and restaurants to visit at Disney, two pub-like atmospheres in one trip can be hard to fit in. After dinner, we decided to make our way out of Epcot, figuring that we still had a few nights left that we would easily be able to catch Illuminations. (Spoiler alert: Nope. This was another Illuminations-less trip.) ![]() ![]() We hopped on the bus back to Port Orleans French Quarter, and decided to pick up our refillable mugs on the way back to the room….which meant that yes, we entered the creepily-decorated Sassagoula Floatworks. ![]() We then made our way back to our building. The general atmosphere of the resort was well-done, I liked the small size, and the “small town” feel it had. We also liked the different colors of the buildings, and thought that it made it a bit fun. ![]() Despite being tired from our travel day, we were thrilled to be at Disney, and were excited to start the wedding planning parts of our trip the next morning!
