How does CA feel about sharing Cars Land?
Quote:
DHS needs something, but I was hoping it would be something unique. Especially since I just booked a DL trip! But, overall I just like the idea of unique attractions.

I like unique rides as well, but I'm also all for sharing. RSR is great and if it's at DHS that means more chances to ride it when I'm at WDW. Having Carsland (or some variant of it) at DHS would not diminish my fun when I'm at DCA.

Test Track (well the old version at least) and RSR are very different...at least to me. It's kind of like Dinosaur and Indy Jones use similar technologies, but the rides are completely different.

And right now, DL has both the better versions. Or so I'm told since I never made it on Indy. Sniff.

Being a native CA and vistor to both DLR and WDW I don't mine if WDW gets a Cars Land as well. It might be financially beneficial for Disney to keep it at DLR to force visitors to travel to DLR. I know that WDW has lots of property to expand so I say why not, however maybe Disney Pixar should consider something like Monsters Inc Land for WDW.

It seems a waste of money and resources. They should put the cash into a Star Wars land. That would make DHS a major destination, it fits thematically, and it would be unique. Frankly, with the acquisition I am surprised this wasn't task #1. A cars land clone will work too... But it's lazy.

I can all but guarantee that they won't build Luigi's Tires at DHS!

Based on the rumors going around on other boards it sounds like WDW will likely get a Cars Land 'Lite' without a lot of the rockwork. Last edited by sheetz; 12-06-2012 at 04:59 AM. |

I am excited.. While I will be able to experience RSR next August at DLR, I cant wait to go back to WDW in 2014.. (Yes, I know that it will not be built by then.)

I don't mind if they build a CL in WDW because it is really amazing, but I do think it makes it more fun to travel to a different park if they have unique things to see and experience. It makes the expense of traveling further worthwhile...otherwise it's harder to justify spending more travel money to see basically the same things (speaking as someone much closer to one park than the other).

I guess it's okay, because we all know that CarsLand at WDW won't be as good as the one at DLR
, I do find it sad that Disney can't come up with new ideas and has to take ideas from DLR. But it will be a 2nd rate land, probably be a lot like the PoC ride at WDW.

I'm happy for DHS, because I feel that it really needs more rides.
I'm not excited for Carsland at WDW, because I really want WDW to do something really big that will make us HAVE to come back. WDW is closer to us and cheaper than DL, but DL seems to have some much more going on. I think we made more than a half a dozen trips to WDW between 2002-2006, we cancelled in 2007 because I was pregnant (what's WDW without booze?!? ) and we haven't been back since, nor have we had the itch to plan a trip.

They should take the RSR and Test Track technology to make an outdoor Indiana Jones Ride at the Animal Kingdom. You could have an indoor component where you go in a cave or something then you can outrun the big rolling rock, then be shot out into the jungle where you speed around avoiding the evil archaeologists.
