where to stay portofino inn or desert palm inn?
We are going end of January, and where booked into the desert inn and suites. But the bed bug issue in the one room that a fellow dis'er reported has totally freaked me, bugs are the one thing I just can't handle. We won't have the money to change hotesl if we show up at the desert inn and find the room has bugs so I'm changing the reservation.
We need a room that sleeps 7 I can afford the portofino inn and suites two bedroom that sleeps 8 or the Desert palm inn (not as impressed with this layout of the room) Which is better? There is also a larger room at the Camelot.... that is not to out of my price range. Any advice? |

We are in the same situation, we have a booking at DI&S for end of January and now I'm looking for a different option for the same reason. I still have no idea what to do.

We are booked at the Desert Palm Inn and Suites the last week of January. We picked it because of the location, breakfast, and price mainly.

I cancelled the desert inn and booked at the Desert Palm inn for my dates Jan 29 to feb 4th. I understand bed bugs can be an issue at any hotel and many people have had good experiences at the Desert Inn and that it would probably be fine, I won't be able to afford last minute rates if there is a problem once I have already arrived. And there just aren't very many affordable rooms for 7 people. I was feeling like the Desert Inn was barely adequate and I felt like as long as there were no bugs I would suck it up and it would be fine. But the concern about the bugs has freaked me out so I changed hotels. My husband originally wanted to stay at the Desert Palms for the better free breakfast and its only 300$ more for the six nights than our rate at the desert inn

We have stayed at the Portofino several times and have been happy with it. It has a nice layout in the rooms and is clean. The walk to the park is only about 10 minutes as well, which isnt too bad.
