Need help deciding
In early June DH and I are taking our only GS(age 9) on his first trip to WDW. I want to make it super special for him, since DD and DSiL are in the middle of a divorce and poor DGS is the one suffering the most.
So my wonderful DSis is giving us her extra DVC points and I have reserved an AKV Savannah view for 5 nights. We really want to stay for 8 nights, though, so it will be a split stay. I can't decide which moderate would be the least let-down after a DVC property! I think DGS would love AoA, but DH so totally hated our stay last year at POP, so I think a mod. would better suit him. Maybe even one of the DTD hotels? Any suggestions? |

I know that would be the ideal solution, but our dates are unchangeable, and the first three days at AKL villas are a different "season" so lower rates. Doing AKV at the end would have to be one day less...

I would say CSR or POFQ.
The pirate rooms, while cool, are very far away from the main area. Not sure if your DH will like that. (Not sure why he didn't like Pop. Insight?) CSR has a great pool area, and you can even book the business class rooms (like CL at deluxe, which are also closer to everything) which may please your dh. POFQ has a smaller feel to it, more like a deluxe in that way. |

I would say CBR pirate room or POR for easy access to DTD, since you say he likes the lego store. I'm sure you'll love AKV, both Jambo and Kidani are very beautiful and special. I hope your DGS enjoys his trip, and that you and dh do also!

I would say POR because of the easy access to DTD and the lego store. He can also build his own light saber at DTD.
I love POFQ, as well, but I think that POR will be better because it has a faster waterslide than POFQ. I also think that you will have a blast if you go to the Yehaa Bob show there at the River Roost lounge in POR.

Thanks for the input, all!
We have stayed at CBR and enjoyed it. also at PO-FQ and loved it but it may just be a little too sedate for DGS! DH won't consider going back to a value after last year's POP. He found it way too crowded and noisy, long waits for buses, and the food court always jammed. Guess he's getting old.....
