Just Booked WL for next October
My birthday is this weekend, and my MIL pulled a fast one and messed up our plans for the day. My husband felt so bad, he told me to do whatever I wanted to "treat" myself for my birthday. Well, I booked a trip to Disney!
 I'm very glad he is such an understanding man and just laughed and said he thinking more of a mani/pedi, but it was ok. I'm so excited! We've never stayed at WL. I booked a woods view room. We will be leaving 2 days after our only DD gets married so I am really looking forward to getting away. I wish I could afford CL, but after paying for a wedding, its not in the budget. I'm hoping the wedding will take my mind of it. I tend to obsess over dinner reservations, resort changing, etc.

You will LOVE the Wilderness Lodge. We just returned home and had such an amazing stay!

You will love the woods view. Such a nice resort to walk around and the boat ride to Magic Kingdom with your cup of coffee, tea, or ? is so wonderful and relaxing.
The gift shop has lots of snacks to go - sometime less than the WL snack area. The pool can be every crowded - since the WL DVC people use it too. But not to worry - plenty of seats to sit in to enjoy the pool. The Whispering Canyon Cafe is a great place to eat - no ADR needed for lunch. Ask to be the Flag family for one early AM when you stay at the WL. You have to ask upon arrival (check-in) - only one family picked for each morning. If you are picked, you get a certificate, raise the flags on the roof, and please bring you camera - the views are spectacular. We were picked on our very last day at WDW. Not a problem with leaving for the airport. We raised the flags at 6:30 am, then had breakfast and arrived for our 10 am Limo ride to the airport with time to spare.

You will love the WL. We've had 2 great stays at the lodge and loved every minute of both trips.....you're going to have a great time

WL is one of our favorite resorts with BC being our other favorite. We have stayed there twice and are planning on staying at VWL in 2014. Even though it is a hop, skip, and jump away from the MK, it doesn't feel like you are in the MK area. It is so peaceful and quiet there plus the lobby is amazing. Have a wonderful time...and don't worry, my guess is that your trip will be here before you know it. Congrats on your DDs upcoming nuptials

We stayed at WL for the first time this past spring and LOVED IT! It is so quiet, relaxing, and beautiful. You really feel like you're in the wilderness. And the boat ride to MK was awesome. It immediately felt like you were right in the middle of the magic! I would definitely stay there again (if there weren't so many other resorts that I still want to try

I will echo everyone else here. You will love WL. It is very relaxing and the boat ride to MK is wonderful.
If you get the chance take in the Trail's End buffet at the campground. It was one of the best deals in WDW.
