Well if you're on the Fantasy as of next Saturday, you just might see me knitting up on deck. Knitting is good for your brain. Who knows, I might bring some hand spinning too

My mom spent a good bit of time up at Satellite Falls knitting she loved it up there... Even if she couldn't escape us "kids" you know her 27 yr old daughters and her 30 yr old son in law who booked the trip then invited their parents.

On a 5-night cruise out of NYC on the Magic, a couple brought both of their school-aged children into the Cove cafe. The dad seemed to be making some kind of point (he loudly proclaimed "Ok, let's go kids" after they had finished their snacks. No one said a word to him or his wife while I was there, but I don't know if anyone had said anything before I got there. I just chuckled to myself, as I imagined a scene about 5 years in the future, when these parents are having trouble garnering respect from their teenagers, but they snootily retort to them, "Well, why should we follow your rules, when you don't follow any?" Sometimes, Karma takes too long.....

Disney is good about the adults only areas but it puzzles us that when we leave from the 11th deck for example we have to leave through the adult area with our kids. Just like the cabanas thing, strange to have to go through a restaurant to get to/from an elevator. Seems like this could have been avoided with a little more planning on a multi-hundred million dollar ship. Also the Fantasy changes when compared to the dream are pretty much all improvements except the small wading pool that overlooks the adult area on deck 12, seems like that should have been adult only also but it is a family area.

Is there an elevator to the satellite falls area or just stairs?

We usually use the stairs, but I thought that the forward elevators go to deck 13 and then you are in a little alcove then you can exit onto the deck from there, go past the concierge sundeck and you are in the falls.

We experienced similar events. The bartenders don't want to say anything because they want their tips.

If I were there, and the bartender asked them to leave, I would happily give them the offenders lost tip! I have a feeling every other family in there who were following the rules would pony up a dollar and more than make up for it.

That's a good idea. I have reported such problems to the appropriate officers. Talking to the CD is a good way to go.

I have seen the bar tender get kids out of the pool. And, on the new ships, there is nothing served by bringing kids into the Cove Cafe area; the Vista Cafe has exactly the same snacks, coffees, etc. and is a family area.

My first Caribbean cruise, I wasn't thinking about yarn + humidity, and I'd brought some Malabrigo Lace. Which felts on a dry day, let alone in a humid climate. I spent a lot of time... working on everything else. And, yes, it was a Disney cruise. And, no, I won't do that again in January!
