I just have to say that I love your trip reports! I've read them before but this is the first time I've actually commented.

What prompted me the most to comment was when you said your brother is in the ND band. I'm in the band at my university, and after ND played us, we went over to the band as they were leaving to say goodbye and to wish them a safe trip home. Judging by my location and the teams ND has played this year you can probably guess what school I go to So, maybe I've seen your brother without even noticing it. Strange Our band actually just received a thank you letter from the ND band that everyone signed.

So, while I'm not a ND fan (don't have strong feelings either way; I'm pretty indifferent), I'll definitely be rooting for them on January 7th

You have got me wanting to stay club level SOOOOO bad!! It's just not fair!

I'm also thinking that I should be checking out Downton Abbey too. I hear lots of people like it...

Can't wait to see GF and hear what you think about it!
The servers at Prime Time are *definitely* not afraid to yell at you! And you should check out Downton Abbey -- it is on netflix!

THIS PICTURE IS HILARIOUS. The look on that poor girl's face... she must have been going through something very traumatizing!

It sounds like yall had SO much fun at Prime Time!
I was hoping someone would comment on that pic -- it is pretty hilarious. I wish I knew what the poor kid was reacting to! Haha, and you're right - if you could just sneak up to the Echo Lake Apt. and move in secretly they'd never know!

I KNOW! It was a serious act of will...and also our pager went off about then.

Thank you for posting!! I love your story - how cool! It was always fun having cookies etc. with the other band when I was in ND band. The only rival band we *don't* like is the Trojans...the last time they visited our band building, they trashed the place. They have been since been banned (no pun intended. ) from our band building!

I love your swirly dress, too !! And it looks so lovely on you.

I don't see how you resisted going up to see the Apartments. I am so checking to see if that gate is open when I go in January !!

We have eaten and Prime Time once and really enjoyed our meal there. I think it is funny that other family was trying to help you hide your uneaten veggies. Ah, Disney .....

Awww, thank you! lol, you should! Disney should do that...have little hidden areas that are themed and open to guests - but only the guests adventurous enough to look!

Living Grand

Are you guys ready? Because this morning we are checking into the GRAND FLORIDIAN RESORT. Were going to have an *amazing* breakfast in the gorgeous Royal Palm Club where everything is pink and cream and cozy and Victorian and elegant and you can hang over the balcony and watch life go by in the lobby below.

I know. I couldnt believe it either.

On check-in morning at the Grand Floridian, I was awake at a very early hour because I was SO excited. Luckily, I didnt have long to wait.

When the Snobbishes stay club level, you better believe were going to get there as early as we possible to enjoy breakfast and get every ounce of value out of our stay, lol!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep !

We were greeted at the curb, Disney style, and told that our room was ready! It seems counterintuitive, but the earlier in the morning you check in, the more likely you are to get a ready room they give away any rooms that were empty the previous night to the earliest arrivals.

We dashed upstairs with our luggage and barely gave ourselves time to check out the room&

Awwww, cute mickey towel&. NO. Gotta focus. BREAKFAST!!

Athos is like: I dont know why Im awake at this hour, but I might as well eat this croissant.

OH. But there werent just croissants&

There were breads.

There were bagels.

There were little, sophisticated, perfectly-portioned balls of butter.

There were pastries.

There were muffins.

There were meats and cheeses. (You know youre somewhere really swanky when they serve you cheese for breakfast.)

There were fruits and yoghurts (yes I just spelled that the British way.) and granola.

There was oatmeal.

There were cereals, with elegant silver dispensers of icy cold milk.

There was tea. There was a fancy coffee machine too, I just dont have a photo of it.

Then there were croissants.

MMMMMMMM. I could write a paean of praise to the Grand Floridian breakfast selection, but lets just focus on that big beautiful piece of toast on the plate. It was BRIOCHE BREAD and it was basically the most amazing thing EVER. The toast melted in your mouth, and then choirs of heavenly angels sang.

The Grand Floridian club food would definitely prove superior to any other Disney club food.

As if the food wasnt enough, the very best part of breakfast might have been the view. In one direction it was this&

In another, it was this&

Dart, you are not Superman, do not try that.

With the upper floors of the Grand to explore, I couldnt sit still for long!! I had a first round of breakfast, then Athos, Dart, and I went to explore.

The third through fifth floors of the Grand Floridian are all concierge floors, and theyre all connected by this sweet little staircase. The check-in desks are on the third floor. The Royal Palm Club with the lounge and food service area is on the fourth floor. Then the fifth floor just had some more couches and seating areas. Each floor had a name one was the Royal Palm Level, one was the Poinciana level, another was the Ponce de Leon maybe?

I came to love the fifth floor best there was a table along a wall of windows that I just ADORED.

I don't know why, but I just adore windows. Especially when there are LOTS of them.

Also, look at the carpet!! Hidden MINNIE!

PLENTY more Grand Floridian elegance, exploring, food, relaxing, and generally GRAND pixie dust coming up!

Oh. My. Gosh. That breakfast selection looked like some of the restaurant buffets! How beautiful!

Do you know how many concierge rooms are at the GF? three floors sounds like there might be quite a few. I wonder if they'll have DVC concierge level rooms there in the future?

Oh, you are making me green with envy and want to try concierge so bad!!!!

Oh man. I try to deny it, but the Grand Floridian has been my number one dream resort since I saw it on Full House when I was four. You are just making my desire grow stronger and stronger. Darn those deluxe costs!

The breakfast looks completely amazing. Can't wait to see more GF pictures!!!

Yippee for the Grand Floridian! I dream of staying there. . . maybe someday. With my Wilderness Lodge Loving DH and a 3 year old son, I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon. Maybe a romantic 20th anniversary trip (you know a mere 14 years from now)!

The Grand Floridian club breakfast definitely rivalled a regular Disney restaurant breakfast. Club lounges usually do breakfast well, but this was by far the best selection I'd ever seen! I don't know how many there are, but you're right - there must be a lot. The whole main building is club, then there's Sugarloaf as well. Hmmm...DVC doesn't usually have club, but I can see why they would want to try that at the Grand!

Haha - I hear you! I'm pretty sure those were my fruit loops. We felt kinda like posers at the Grand - there we are with our discount, schlepping our own luggage to our room - we are not that swanky. But it's still Disney, so luckily the Grand isn't a stuffy swanky.

I was trying to google the names of the levels of the Grand Floridian Club to make sure I was remembering them right, but I couldn't find those on the internet either! Anyway, there are plenty more photos coming up!
