Pictures of the Shows on the Cruise?

In the past we could take pictures of the shows without flash. I have heard that we can no longer do that. Is it true and when did they start that policy?

I don't know when it started, but we just returned from our Dream Cruise and they were definitely not allowed. I saw the ushers speak to 3 different people when they tried.

Have not heard this, but I would not doubt it. Last cruise we were on, they repeatedly announce the no flash only to have flashes going off the entire show. I don't know how many are the accidental vs. rules are for those other people and I want a picture of this...

or the ever growing LCD screens on the back of the camera distracting everyone.

Have seen this happen in other venues, where despite a request not to take flash photos, guests took flash photos anyway or just forgot to turn off the flashes. When that happens enough, it ends up being no photos at all.

The last two cruises (Mar 2012 and Sept 2012) I was on they said NO pictures which was strange because in the past all they said was no flash photography.

During the shows that they use people from the audience (like the kids as the dwarfs during the Golden Mickey's) parents whose children were up on stage ARE allowed to take photos. My daughter was on stage during our last cruise and I was told by the cm that yes, there is NO photography allowed, but this is the one exception. I took photos, but I felt guilty the entire time and wished I had a sign that said "I am authorized by Disney to take photos during this part of the show."

It says no photography allowed. I did not see anyone trying to take pictures.

In the past the No Flash Pictures was the rule. Then people started taking video. And then all cameras (video & still) started having the display on the back. It was very distracting with 1/3 to 1/2 the audience holding up a camera with the displays showing during the productions.

They tried just asking everyone "No flash & please turn off your displays". That didn't work.

So now it's "No photography of any kind". It started in Dec 2011.
