Adults only areas on Disney Fantasy (pools ect)

Now, I did say "up to a point" because those specific examples were not on the cruise ship in an adults only area. I was just commenting on your "kids in a bar" statement. In normal circumstances, I'd never take my kids into a regular bar type place.

I was being specific to the cruise but I get your point. I'm not really talking about kids in a restaurant lounge waiting for a table ... that's a totally different scenario and completely understandable.

When the CM's were walking close to the water's edge, Dad told his son to keep his mouth under water so the CM's didn't see that he was wearing braces on his teeth! Sure enough every time a CM came close the kid would dip his head and pretend he was blowing bubbles in the water

This is a thread about Adult-only areas on the ship - DCL is clear that guests under 18 are not allowed in those areas and that is what the discussion is about.

No one here said they have a problem with children in general.

I don't knit, but I may start for my next cruise. It would be easier than setting up the sewing machine. Would it be inappropriate to also yell, "You kids get off my lawn...er, pool deck!"?

I've only ever had problems with loud (drunk?) adults in "Quiet" Cove. One time it was some very LOUD people who communicated across the length of the deck instead of walking over. I was trying to nap, silly me. And they spoke Spanish, so I couldn't even eavesdrop on their apparently urgent conversation.

But I totally get wanting some adult time. Other people's kids aren't as cute as their parents think they are (or as cute as mine), so why shouldn't there be adult-only areas, even on a Disney ship?

Disney is NOT just for kids. DH and I vacationed at Disney for a few years before we had our son.
WE LOVE CHILDREN...that's why we volunteer w/Boy Scouts, Youth Ministries, and we our son's sports.

However, Disney understands that there are adults that love Disney Vacations or adults that may want to have some "romantic" or "adult time" while their children are in their clubs. Disney does all they can to accommodate everyone.

My first Disney Cruise I was divorced with my 5yr son...I did not want to spend one minute away from him...after all it was OUR vacation together. However, he refused to leave the kid's club...so I went to the adult's pool twice and read my book and on one evening I went to the night club...yes alone...but not really alone...CM were always with me keeping me company.

Yes, I have 4 kids of my own and I don't even want to get a whiff of them while I am having my adult time...thank you! Oh and I said adult only oasis...plenty of loud adult fun is included...I hope!

You should totally take up knitting. I started out sewing then moved to embroidery but both of those hobbies tied me to a machine. I love that I can take my knitting with me wherever I go. Great hobby and it isn't just for old people anymore!

This always comes up. You want adult only areas, you must hate kids, what are you doing on a Disney ship. Where did anyone say they wanted a whole adults only cruise? They just want the DESIGNATED BY DISNEY adults only areas to stay adults only. DCL can just un-designate them if they feel they shouldn't be adults only areas.

goes both ways, too. I've also seen parents take their kids into a bar and then be outraged that there are adults in the bar acting like adults in a bar. So really there isn't anything wrong with bringing your kids into a bar, as long as you don't spend a bunch of time complaining that there are ADULTS in here and they're DRINKING.

Nope you are wrong! I have been on five Disney cruises, 2 of which were just me and DH !!

There are adult areas for a reason, and they should be respected as such. Just because it is Disney doesn't mean it has to do with kids. Kids aren't supposed to be in certain areas, and not many either. The parents that don't respect those rules are wrong. They don't belong in the bars or the adult pool.

Adults are allowed to have fun without their kids too!!
