December Exercise Challenge

Here we go! Final month of the year, let's squeeze in some exercise minutes between shopping and celebrating!

Bear with me please everyone. I've never started a thread, rarely post and am an untechnical lurker! But I do love to see my name change colors! So let's get started!

The challenge is on. And it's a challenge by you to you! Challenge yourself to do "x" number of minutes of exercise this month and then Get Moving!

Post as frequently as you like and I will update the list throughout the month. Please tell me how many minutes you have completed along with your goal for the challenge. For example "I did 60 minutes on the treadmill yesterday, and am now at 60/1200".

As you reach milestones for the month, your name and total will change color in this post.
At 10%, you'll be bright pink
When you reach 25%, you'll be orange
When you reach 50%, you'll be purple
When you reach 75%, you'll be turquoise
At 90%, you'll be red (because you are on fire!)
When you hit 100%, you'll be WISH green!

So here we go! Post your self-challenge and I will add you to the list!

I am in again for 1800.

Thanks so much Linda for taking December.

I fell very short in November, but I have two very long runs in Dec to get ready for the marathon in January and I really need to keep up on my other runs, so I am going to try again.

Rose, you marathon folks are lucky since you "only" have 2 long runs in December. I "only" have three! I'm sure your miles are much, much higher. You can do it!

I'm in going to start at 60 and try to get 1500. We are going to Disney next December 2013 would like to lose 40 pounds by then.

Ok, I've never done this challenge before, but I'm joining in! I've got an injury right now, but I'm going to be positive and say I'll be able to figure something out that I can do.

I'll aim for 800.

Ordered some new Jillian Michaels DVDs earlier this week to add some variety to my routine of PT exercises, abs, and running. Can't wait for them to arrive and the torture to begin.

It will be my first time doing this and a good way to keep me motivated for my April trip.

I'm going to start in at 1000 for this month and work my way up each month.

Can't wait to get started tomorrow!

Wow, it is so nice to see some new folks!

Please remember when you post your minutes to do it like this to make it easy for Linda to record everything. We don't want to make it hard for in December.

Record your minutes like this: 0/1800.

You can always report specifically what exercise you completed, but to make it easy, always give the total.

Lisa--I think the long runs are the only reason I will get the minutes in this month! I have a 20, a 22, and a 10-13. What is wrong with my brain when I consider the 10-13 "short"? Glad to see you here. It is a nice motivator.

Rose - I think I remember you from the W&D 2012 thread, yes? Good luck on your long runs! You too Lisa! (which is confusing b/c I'm Lisa also)

My ultimate goal for Dec-Feb is to shed some extra pounds to get to a better running weight before any races I sign up for next year. I have about 15 to lose. I want to do the wine & dine again in November and probably the Pittsburgh half in May and I have a hard time losing weight when running the high mileage. Maintaining, yeah because I burn off what I eat, but I can never get to a deficit without feeling too weak. So I hope this challenge helps me keep focused during the

The Princess Half is less than three months away and I'm walking my chubby little legs to a nub getting ready for it. Recording my minutes has been wonderful accountability for me. Sign me up for 2000.

I'm in too!! I'm determined to keep up my exercise this month and carry it right on into January! I want to get the weight off (15 lbs) before our March trip!

I'm in for 800 minutes, and as of this morning, I am at:

30/800

I'm in! Thanks for hosting this month and thanks to Rose for hosting last Month! I WILL make my goal this month, 1000. I just finished my healthy eating grocery list and now I'm off to yoga! I hope everyone has a happy and healthy December
