So...tonight we decided to switch our resort reservation and go to AOA!!! We are so excited and the surprise trip for the kids is going to be even more exciting. We were in POR, but wanted something more for the kids.
So, with the current stay. play. dine special, they only had a AOA suite available....I could not pick the specific one we want. I was told it would be assigned on the day we check-in but we could make a request for the one we would prefer. Has anyone had this happen? Either of the three would be fine...they are all adorable, but I DS6 loves the Lion King and we really want to stay there. We decided to go with a suite because we will be in Disney for 9 days and DH and I thought it would be nice to put the kids to bed and hang out. Plus, I have heard the rooms at POR are kind of small, especially with the new queen beds. I know we will LOVE the space! I am happy to be here. This thread is great! |

No. The LM rooms have a beverage cooler, but no microwave. The cooler is like a refrigerator, but it has no freezer section. It also takes a long time to get warm beverages cold. It does a better job keeping already cooled beverages cold.

Just Back From Lion King!
Just Back From Lion King Suites! Any questions?
Just an FYI - It was me, my husband and 2 boys (one turned 5 while there and the other is almost 3). My 5 year old has a peanut allergy, and we try not to give our kids artificial flavors, colors or preservatives - sort of a modified Feingold Diet, if you are familiar. This was the first time our kids have been away from home or flew. |

Here's the opinion of a 4-year-old seconds after walking around the room at AoA LM.

It doesn't matter which LM building you are in. They are all super close to each other. We were in Ursula's building which is the only one that does not have a parking lot next to it but even it wasn't far to walk to. LM is the farthest from the Animation Hall and buses.

Just back from our stay at AoA in the LM section, so I wanted to post a few quick thoughts from the trip...
Check in and check out were quick and easy, and our room was ready when we arrived at about 10am. We were in building 7, facing the lake and POP on the 4th floor. I was worried building 7 would be far from the parking lot, but it was fine. We had no issues with noise at all, but maybe that was because we were on the top floor. No issues with the thermostat in the room. For some reason, we were not able to set it any lower than 68, but it stayed at that temp the entire time and we never had any complaints with the temp. In fact, we were a little cold at night. For those who are concerned with the walk from LM to the main building - don't be! It's not bad at all! It was just not an issue. Of course, other buildings are closer, but for the standard rooms, the walk in not bad at all. We loved the theming around the resort - the pool looked fun, even though we didn't swim, and the Cars section is amazing! I am admittedly a deluxe-snob, so the things that bother me about the other values were the same at AoA: ~The room was really small. We are 2 adults and 2 little kids and it was short trip for us, and I still felt like we were bumping into each other all the time. Two sinks would have made things a lot easier. ~The values always seem SO much more crowded than other resorts. On our MK day, the line for the bus was so long, it overflowed past the line for the other park bus. It would have taken an hour just to get on a bus, so we ended up driving. It seemed to us that they should have done a better job of handling situations like that. If anyone has any questions, I'll be glad to try to answer them

Murphy Bed vs. Couch bed
We leave a week from today for a week stay in the LK suite! Super excited. My 6 year old daughter and I will be sharing one of the pull out beds as my DH has horrible sleep apnea and refuses to wear his mask so the snoring is unbearable! Regardless, for those of you that have already tried out these two beds, which would you say is more comfortable (especially when sharing with a 6 year old)????? I sleep on a Tempurpedic mattress at home and am contemplating bringing my own foam mattress topper. Have we determined that the pull out beds are in fact Full sized? I have been trying to keep up with these posts since last March and there are just so many I can't quite keep up! Thanks everyone!!!!!

I have TONS of questions!! We leave a week from tomorrow for a week stay in the LK suites. We should be able to do online check in today (assuming Disney.com gets their site up and working again) and I am not sure what section to request. We did not do the preferred room, however, looking at the layout, it looks like we would want to request a room in building 10. I believe this is what our travel agent did at the time of booking last January. Do you think that being on a certain floor makes a difference due to noise? I am a very light sleeper and would hate to have kids above me running all hours of the night. Thoughts appreciated! Thanks!!!
