Hi-
My wife and I are going to disney the first week of March. I'm a vegetarian but I do not eat dairy. I do eat eggs. She is a pescetarian but is mildly lactose intolerant. I have IBS, which for me means that eating raw fruits/veggies is a no-go, as well as fried foods. Unfortunately, I am also a fairly picky eater- i generally dislike tofu and anything too "exotic". I know, it's a tall order!
I've done a fair amount of research on vegetarian/vegan eating and have found a lot of tips. We have found a decent number of CS restaurants that seem okay for us, and have those listed for each day we're going to the parks to pick from.
For the sit down meals we're a bit more stumped.
So far for restaurants we are looking at:
Sanaa
Jiko
Portabello in DTD
wolfgang puck DTD
(i think there may be others, but I'm at work and don't have my lists with me)

and we had talked about Boma and Ohana, but my wife isn't sure about buffets- she's concerned there won't be anything for either of us to eat, and that the quality won't be very good. Can anyone offer us some tips for restaurants as well as feedback on the buffets such as Boma and Ohana?
Also, does anyone know of any sushi restaurants that have veggie sushi? Every menu I've looked at has pretty much nothing....

I believe the Sushi at the dolphin has veggie sushi - instead of Boma, consider Tusker house.

O'Hana is not a buffet. It is more family style. The regular meal is a lot of meat. But I have heard that they do a great job for vegetarians/vegans as well. I have not eaten there myself, but have seen pics and reviews that are good.

I ended up with the following ADR's for my family of 5 (all vegetarian except for dh): Via Napoli lunch with Biergarten and Akershus dinners for our 2 Epcot days, Tusker House lunch for our AK day, Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Fare and Tony's Town Square dinners for our 3 MK days. I would like to eat at Boma, but there's no good time to schedule it.

What do you think?

I'm a vegetarian and have has good experiences at Les Chefs in Epcot. There are two options: veggie pasta dish or baked Mac and cheese. The salad appetizer was good also.

I personally do not care for Biergarten and found the options slim. The buffet is very heavy on meat, especially sausages.

What about for kids at Les Chefs? I actually looked at that but all of the kid's options were meat.

My dd does not eat meat and she chose the baked macaroni. She loved it.

In my experience restaurants accommodate kids too.

We will be on the dining plan. Do you know if they will substitute on that? I would much prefer to eat there! Thanks.

Yes- you can definitely get veg substitutions with the dining plan!

Yes dining plan substitutes are no problem.


Also if you need quick service, Toruga has a good veggie burrito in MK. Although it is open only occasionally. I eat there when possible to have something besides a quick service veggie burger!

Great, thanks! I wasn't sure if they would substitute on dining plan. Several of the sit down places have kid's menus with nothing vegetarian listed and all three of my kids are veg.

I think the dining plan can be rough if your kids are vegetarians and like to eat more than pizza or mac&cheese. You seem to have a number of buffets, which is what we plan while on the DDP so that our youngest has a bit of variety each day. Crystal Palace had a good variety too. Have a wonderful vacation!

Thanks! My younger two would be fine with pizza and mac and cheese every day but my 7 year old won't eat mac and cheese at all and pizza ony occasionally. He's not big on cheese. His favorite thing to eat is soup! We should be ok with all of these buffets though. I think Tusker House will be his favorite.
